I got to work today and caught my boss. It really does seem like I've been gone forever. I mean, so much has happened, and besides, I feel like I aged an entire year in a week. But we got to talking, of course, about last Tuesday's events. I was curious to hear what the reaction was here in Columbus - what I mean is, did they talk about it as much? Think about it as much? What was going on, all that sort of thing.
He started talking about retribution and what he wanted to happen, so of course I got into my "naive doormat stuff," about love and peace and froo-froo bunnies, and my boss gave me the best compliment ever. He said that he wanted to get together with me someday and have a beer and talk about how I see the world. He said, "I think of myself as a really liberal, open-minded person, but you blow me away." Mmm. Nice.
One of my clients forgot to show up today. I'd been seeing him on Thursdays for so long that his Mom forgot we switched to Monday. Oops. But when I called to reschedule, both Mom and Dad mentioned on the phone that they worried about me on Tuesday. How sweet of them! Most of the people at my internship had no idea where I was. My boss thought I was in Rhode Island, for reasons I don't understand. Debbie remembered, though, and she was all worried. They like me!
I am still so very much in love with this Switchblade Symphony remix album that Mark sent me. Thank you again. I just love it to bits!
Today on the way home, I was blasting "As Cool As I Am" by Dar and was bouncing and singing and smiling and having a grand old time. And then I had thoughts that made me all kinds of giddy and realized, "Yep. I'm Afterglow Girl."
Mmm. Vacation Afterglow. I want to go back. Like, tomorrow.
