We just came back from seeing Open Water with saltyponySPOON. Now, I'm no sharkaeologist or whatever, but it seemed pretty plausible to me. I don't know if I'm in any kind of hurry to go diving, yanno?

That said, the movie's not worth it. At all. Save your $10 and spend it on something more worthwhile. Like pocket lint.

Work just keeps getting more interesting. I still have the worst luck building a caseload. I also find that I'm feeling more and more like a hack the more I get involved with families. I mean, really - what the heck do I know about speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, or physical therapy? I feel like families' insurance is paying big bucks for me to come in and do Early Intervention and that I don't know enough about what I'm doing to make it worthwhile.

I sure hope I learn more stuff PRONTO.

it might not have been worth the money, but with my pre-existing dive phobias, it still made me want my teddy bear.

It definitely got my heart rate going as well! I just think it would have been worth $3, not $9. :)

Besides, the company was great!

does your job not have some sort of suggested reading or anything?

Well, sure they do. If by "suggested reading" you mean they gave me 88749787 articles in my orientation packet. Which is great, I read them. They were mostly about child development (which I have a good handle on) and doing home-based interventions (which I have no problem with). What I'm /really/ looking for are books that will give me strategies to try with families. I think I will have to go online and reserve library books about kids with speech delays and stuff... and go from there.

This is where my EI people told me to go. Maybe it will help you? I think it is refreshing that at least you have the desire to be better at your job. Not many people out there are like that!

best of luck
