Contrary to the look of the photos, we actually experienced no wind, and ended up motoring around for a little while before calling it quits. Boo. I sure will miss the boat when Mom and John take it to icky South Carolina.

(Oh, did I mention they're hoping to close on the house by mid-September and move around mid-October? Happy fricking birthday, right?)

It's not icky that YOU live there, it's icky that my mother has gone from 'looking into places to move in five years' to 'scoping out the area so we can move in about two years or so' to 'putting a bid on a house and moving in a month.'

hey chica, do you use your gmail acct for lj comments? I set mine up, confirmed the acct change but I don't seem to be getting anything emailed to me. Just wondering if it was being blocked for some reason?

No, I don't. I use my Yahoo! mail. I didn't like how gmail would lump comments together into one thread.

thanks! I like that feature in some ways, but in others it doesn't make sense. I also wish gmail had a notification system like yahoo, hotmail or aol (where you get a taskbar icon letting you know when you receive something)

I always forget that I have the gmail account and then I end up with a bunch of messages. Oops. I think I have too many accounts.

Maybe I should ditch the hotmail one or something.

yeah I'm thinknig about getting rid of hotmail, but on the other hand, I don't mind circulating that one for mandatory opt-in type services.

Yeah, my hotmail address is the one I use for ordering things and other spam-inducing stuff.

Although I should create an account on my domain just for that stuff.
