It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood. The weather is glorious, there's a lovely breeze and lots of sun, and the sky is a brilliant blue. It's a nice, comfortable temperature in the apartment, and I know this because I escaped from work at 3:45pm. Simply marvelous.

I got stood up for an appointment today with a family that I can't really contact since Mom lost her cell phone. I can call Dad's house, but no one there speaks English, so I usually end up just saying Mom's name over and over until she comes to the phone. However, I showed up there this afternoon and there was grandma, looking at me blankly. Finally I stumbled out, "Es [Mom's name] aqui?" and she said no, so I quickly said, "Gracias!" and left. Maybe I can call Mom's mom tomorrow and get her to call me. Argh! How can someone with a young child be unreachable? If I lost my cell phone, I would replace it pronto... this has been weeks and weeks.

It's Survivor night, which makes it a good night. Perhaps I will open a bottle of wine for the occasion. This season's cast seems like a bunch of douchebags, so the alcohol will probably make them more palatable.

p.s. When did I get so boring? I need a life.

people who are unpredicatable NEED people like you to keep up with their ass. i agree with you on the importance of her following up with you in regards to an appointment, though. that's some shit... she probably knew you were coming and didn't want to deal with it so she just disappeared for the weekend.

Heh... reminds me of the times John would get patients who couldn't speak English and didn't bring translators.

His trick was to poke them and ask ?Duele aqui? which means, does it hurt here?

Otherwise, he'd get absolutely no useful information out of them.

Hee! Well, in this case, both the Mom and the Dad speak English, but they both live with their respective parents/grandparents who definitely do not. Usually they just say, "hi" to me and smile.

I wonder what it is they think I do with their grandson. ;)

Nah, I'm pretty sure she just forgot. Usually she's good about keeping our appointments, and she really wants her son to get into one of our play groups (and she needs ME to get into that). So I'm sure I'll get in touch with her tomorrow and she'll apologize a lot. :)

I am going to watch Survivor tonight, too (though I missed the first ep.).

I won't be quaffin' the booze, so I'm your Sober Control for tonight. :)

I think that your day sounds rejuvenating, not boring. I'm home sick, so I get to watch Survivor tonight too. I can't have alcohol, but I can enjoy it with CODINE! Woo Hoo!

Well, I ended up not drinking, but I applaud your support of me nonetheless. :)

p.s. Will you be in town Friday the 15th? Will you get some birthday beers with me if you will?

Being home sick is a big bummer. I didn't have codeine /or/ alcohol with my Survivor. Just straight up Survivor!

(And it's okay, when you meet me on Sunday you'll learn just how boring I really am.)

I will be, yes, and I will, yes, ESPECIALLY if it's a dog-friendly place or you want to schlep out to the Leominster area. Heck, schelp out to watch bad cable and you and yours can crash on the extra bed (though Puck might try to join...he's a slut, in the best of ways)!

How far is Leominster? My knowledge of the place extends to being able to pronounce it like a local, but no further.

Jen usually works on Friday nights... I wonder if she will be working the night of the 15th. I'm always the last to know!

I love how you are trying to lure me with bad cable. (It just might work.)

The funniest part of Survivor was watching all those guys try not to hug :P

Hey, I work with what I have -- fluffy dog, bad cable.

:) :) :)

Leominster is just to the west of Concord... It's right where I-190 intersects with Rt. 2.

Or, we could test your kitties' reflexes to doggie intrusions... :)

Ha! My cats do NOT like dogs, not even a little, not even at all.

However, if the weather is lovely, perhaps Puck would like a walk on the beach?
