What to do?

I need to find something fun to do today, or I will spend my whole morning/afternoon doing housework. But what to do, what to do? Any ideas?

Last night Jen and I got to sit around with Matt and Shani and just talk. It was so fun! It was like getting to know them all over again. For only the second time (I think) since we moved, we got to just be chatty chatterboxes and make friends. I want more more more! Especially with [livejournal.com profile] bellabooks and [livejournal.com profile] mostlyhere. Must do more sitting around and talking. MORE!

So back to the original dilemma: it's not even 9am and I've already done the dishes, made the bed, and started drying the second load of laundry. I need a better plan before I start scrubbing floors or something, but I'm at a loss. No shopping. No eating. What to do?

FWIW, we had fun too. I can't believe it's been years since I haunted a coffee shop just to chat.

Next Saturday: my birthday party, which you must must must attend.

Duh, of COURSE I am attending your birthday party. I don't believe I've ever attended a birthday party of yours, with the exception of the one at my house.

So of COURSE.

Bowling? Library? Pedicure? Interesting wax jobs? Take the train into the city and do the freedom walk or whatever the hell it's called??

Freedom Trail. I actually haven't done it since I was a kid. Heh.

I'm going to nix the pedicure and the waxing but thank you anyway. ;)

The library is definitely a possibility. Also Trader Joe which, while falling into the 'no shopping' genre, is groceries and therefore practical.

Hmm, my laundry is not done, my bed is not made, my dishes are unwashed and my floors are unswept and unmopped. Perhaps it is you who should be visiting me, not the other way around.

I'd invite you to come run errands with Widget and I, but I hardly think that would count as fun or exciting.

I hear ya. I'm in the same boat here. "Well, I could go run errands!" but that sort of counteracts the FUN part. :)

Ha ha! That's funny. :)

Since last type, I have completed and put away laundry. Also eaten breakfast. And watched "A Baby Story," arguably one of the worst shows on television.

Got a library card? If so, why not see what kind of tickets they have for today. Library card=cheap fun

Okay so, I've heard that one can get cheap-o tickets for things at the library. But how does one actually GET them?

You just ask the librarian. I suggest calling first to find out if they have any. If you have a MinuteMan Network Library card you can get tickets from any other network library as well.

Interesting - thanks. What is the MinuteMan Network? Is it statewide? I just have a BPL card.

Is it a blue card? With some old guy on it? That's a MLN card. You could also check the BPL site if you have doubts.

No old guy. It's blue(ish) but there is some design on it, not an old guy.

I WANT AN OLD GUY, DAMMIT!!

Yeah, just checked the site. BPL is not in the network. You should have a local branch that is though.

Except that my local branches are all Boston, because I live in Boston. Hee. The nearest local branch to me is out your way. :)
