Who needs sleep?

judecorpI'm looking forward to getting a full night's sleep tonight. I was hoping to be able to stay in bed a little longer tomorrow and called one of my families to try to change our 9am appointment to 10:30... and they didn't even call me back. I'm sort of miffed about that - they could have at least said yes or no on my voicemail. Aah well, 9am's not /so/ early.
The World Series starts on Saturday and I can't wait! More rotting on the couch under my lucky red blanket! Our Sunday evening dinner with Olex and Jen has become pizza, wings, and beer while watching the game. SWEET. That's my kind of night out! Good friends, fatty foods, and baseball.
Today one of my moms called me and said, "I have the flu. Do you want to keep our appointment?" Umm, no thanks, but, umm, thanks for asking? Heh. She also said, "I don't want to cough or sneeze on you." Well, yes, I don't want that either but I wasn't going to say it out loud. Most of the time my job is kind of fun.
Today at lunch all of my coworkers and I went around the table talking about what kinds of Sox-game-voodoo we did during the playoffs. Like me with my red blanket, Gina wore special socks, Laura made sure her husband said "full count" whenever it was a 3-2 pitch, etc. We're all afflicted. All week, my home visits were filled with talk of baseball rather than babies. Oops.
The funniest thing was when my director accosted me during lunch because she said she 'needed to discuss favors.' Come to find out she wanted me to tape Survivor for her. Hee. I asked her if she would give me a raise if I edited out the commercials. She said it was negotiable. That's not true at all, but I like my director. She has a deadpan sense of humor that I absolutely adore, and she's BY FAR the most approachable Director I've ever worked with. All of the people I work with are top notch - very professional, very devoted to the families, very interested in delivering quality work. It's a nice change from child welfare.
