Last year in Ithaca I was toying with the idea that this was the world's way to tell us "keep out and f* you, you stupid apes" from certain areas of the globe.

But once it happens, it seems that one gets through it much more easily than expected. Hang in there!

Well, I'm used to this stuff, as I grew up around here and then spent two deliciously (un)delightful years in central Maine. So while I know that we will all dig out and get through, I'm just decidedly unpleased at the total picture.

Who knows? Maybe I'll go out tomorrow and have some fun. Or maybe I'll spend the whole time shoveling. Either way, I'm less worried about the actual storm and more about the lingering effects on my icky job.

In Ohio, I just shoveled somewehre between 8 inches and a foot off of my driveway, and it's still coming down.

If we got enough of us, we could pool our money together and buy a tropical island. Maybe we could televise it to foot the bill. "Geek island" has a ring to it.
