Wife Swap

Okay, so how trashy is tonight's "Wife Swap" with the lesbian family and the uber-conservative family?

It's like crack, I tell you. PURE CRACK!

[identity profile] buckeyebrain.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 07:22 pm (UTC)(link)
So how do they decide which one is the 'wife' to swap?

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm guessing they chose when they applied to be on the show.

[identity profile] luloubelle.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 07:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Holy shit! Crack is wack!

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Crack is for kids!

(No, wait...)

[identity profile] gabriellag.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 07:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Crack.

I just want to shake that woman.

Shake, shake, shake.

God I wish I wasn't so addicted to this trash.

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 08:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, you are SO NOT KIDDING. I would have gone totally postal about it. I would be so embarrassed! (Sorry, Reppie friends!)

[identity profile] folkyboy.livejournal.com 2005-02-10 06:43 am (UTC)(link)
you have Reppie friends?!

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-02-10 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] folkyboy.livejournal.com 2005-02-10 06:43 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] folkyboy.livejournal.com 2005-02-10 10:02 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] hope-persists.livejournal.com 2005-02-10 10:05 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] sudrin.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I just don't know how you can watch it. My brain says you should reject such shows absolutely! ;-)

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Dude, there is no brain required. That's part of the appeal! ;)

[identity profile] gabriellag.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Ok, that was the most depressing thing I've ever seen.

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 08:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Seriously. I am still in shock. I didn't know it would be so bad.

[identity profile] gabriellag.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
At first she seemed about as open-minded as a Conservative Republican Christian could get. I thought her main problem was the share of the housework and the time with the kid, which was understandable. Then she kind of just threw it out there.

She is married to a black man. Nikki made a good point - until about forty years ago people used the Bible to prevent interracial marriages. How do people ignore things like that?

And dad just sitting there made me want to puke. Although, her kids seemed way more open-minded. And that oldest? I'm not sure he's heading down the straight and narrow path, no matter how much mama encourages him. Am I seeing things?

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh my gosh, I was thinking that about the oldest son, too... but I've been accused of thinking /everyone/ is queer so I just kept my little trap shut.

I, too, was really sad that the dad just sat there and listened to all of that and didn't say a single word. Although it looked (to me) like he hesitated a little bit before holding his wife's hand after the "confrontation" or whatever.

But why couldn't he just say, "Honey, she was nothing but kind and appropriate with our kids," or something? That would have really made me like him.

[identity profile] jennbits.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
i have to disagree. she started the show off with a completely closed mind. one of her first comments (that i noted in another jude journal entry) was when she was looking at the books on the bookshelf and said, "an unconventional family that has problems raising their children. i wonder if there's a connection there?" all snarky-like.

i turned it off immediately because i knew i was just going to get upset if i continued to watch it from there

[identity profile] luloubelle.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH! That just made me really fucking angry!

I also what to beat the hell out of that lady.

*counting to 10*

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I know! At first I was kind of amused but then I just wanted to bust out crying.

*sad*

[identity profile] estrange.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh I can't wait to watch! It's recording on the DVR - must do taxes first.

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-02-09 08:17 pm (UTC)(link)
It will make you cry.

[identity profile] thatpatti.livejournal.com 2005-02-10 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
(ugh, i always have trouble finding where to comment on your page, because i'm dumb)

i sort of wish i had watched, but am mostly glad i didn't, i think. those shows get me so riled up!

[identity profile] thatpatti.livejournal.com 2005-02-10 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
also, do you ever watch supernanny? it's so good!

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-02-10 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I've never seen Supernanny, but I've seen Nanny 911. It's so much like my job sometimes that it's a little frightening. :)

[identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com 2005-02-10 08:24 pm (UTC)(link)
I love it when you're all riled up.
