judecorpI went out on a limb last night and e-mailed one of the presenters from my volunteer training, because she'd mentioned that she'd worked in the LGBT community professionally for over 20 years. I didn't think it was appropriate to ask her about it during her presentation on transgender issues, so I e-mailed her personally and asked her if she had any suggestions/tips for me to break into the community professionally here in Boston, or if she would be willing to be my activism mentor. And she said yes! She told me to call her tomorrow to set up a time to talk, and I am SO going to do it!
Big Gay Job, here I come! No one can ever say I don't try. I'm nervous to call tomorrow, but I'm so glad I e-mailed her! :)
p.s. I finished off Peas's szechuan chicken tonight for dinner, also risky because I've never tasted that before. It was delicious and filling, but I rather wish she was still here to eat it herself. Bummer.
p.p.s. Former Coworker Sarah called me today to tell me she missed me and that I hate her for not calling her ever. Come to find out she was having problems with her phone and didn't get my previous calls asking if SHE hated ME since she wasn't calling me back. Yay! No haters!
