Somehow last week one of my coworkers conned me into playing softball with her and her boyfriend. They are on some sort of coed softball league that plays around Boston on Sundays. Since Jen is working today, I told her earlier this week that I would come today. She got way too excited for her own good. (I don't think she knows many of the players, and they're required to have a certain number of girls, yadda yadda.)

I guess I made the mistake of telling her that I played softball in high school, because she promptly went and told her boyfriend and the rest of the team that I'm some sort of all-star. And she's been so eager for me to play that it's quite adorable. Every day at work she's been asking me if I'm still coming, and telling me where to go, etc.

This morning she called me to ask if I'd had a big, protein-filled breakfast. And told me to drink lots of water. It's hysterical.

But in honor of Softball Sarah, I made an egg-sandwich-a-la-Peas. I think it's the first time I've ever cooked an egg in my life. (It's yummy, but not as good as the ones with that Peas touch!) Now I must drink more water, take a shower, find clothes, and head out to Newton for the game. It's also 87908429872 degrees outside. Yuck.

(How hot is too hot for cats?)

Our cats are melting. The kittens are adorable, though.

And nice work. Play softball. It is 87908429872 degrees out...I'm used to being out there either.

Your pottery should be done soon, BTW...I'll keep you posted...

I just brushed two full cats' worth of hair off of Daedalus. I feel so bad for them. They're just laying around. Then again, what would they be doing if it were cold out? ;) When I pet them, they don't feel overly warm or anything. I will probably put the central air on when I get back from the game because the apartment is creeping up to 83 degrees... but I don't want to do it now and put it on while no one is home. I think I'll leave a fan on so that they get some sort of breeze, and our bedroom is significantly cooler than some of the other rooms.

I wish I could find my water bottle. Drat!

Also, I can't wait to see the pottery.

I love you.
If I lived there, I would make you egg sandwiches every morning, on your wonky skillet, with white american cheese.

and we would smile

Tip insists on spending time upstairs, which is a good 10+ degrees hotter than downstairs. If he were really hot, he'd be downstairs on the stone floor in the kitchen.

I've been putting ice cubes in his water dish. He appears to enjoy them as toys.

You have central air? I'm coming over.

Ooh, I should do that. Daedalus loves playing in the water.

Instead, I caved and put on the central air. Now I have two happy cats blissfully sleeping on the sofa.

Sounds good to me. Jen and I are already planning your moving to Rhode Island with us where you can be our tenant and have a 3br apartment below us. Doesn't that sound like fun?

I used a different frying pan since I was only cooking the one egg. It wasn't the same. Also, I don't flip them as well as you do.

Miss you. Stow away in John Cheesecake's car.

Cats are resiliant. Takes a lot for them to melt. Birds would melt before cats would...don't ask me how I know that...

I'm also in denial tomorrow's monday. Poop.

I did not think you liked eggses, precious.

You should come over to my apartment with the amazing amounts of air conditioning. I have a happy cat.

I don't really like eggs at all. I do not eat eggs, but will occasionally have a small egg fried up in an egg sammich.

p.s. I like happy cats, and I would like to see your new place sometime.
