Call for big-muscled bruisers:

All the calls have been made, and we will definitely have a big, giant dumpster at my dad's house this weekend (the 22nd and 23rd). My hope is to empty all of the junk (and I do mean junk) that has accumulated in the attic and the basement. And maybe the garages. We'll see. Anyway, I could use your help, if you can spare it!

I'll be there pretty much all day Saturday (though I have a birthday party to go to that evening and I know a lot of you have Kriss's party) and Jen and I will be back there on Sunday to do some more. If anyone can help on either of those days, PLEASE let me know.

I'll totally feed you or whatever. And give you my undying gratitude. And all of that. (And directions. I'm sure you'd need directions.) But if you can't do it, I totally understand. No pressure.

xoxo

If you weren't so far away, I'd totally be there to help. I'll be there in spirit. Good luck.

It would be way more fun if you could come help!

Heck yeah!

Oy! SO busy for this weekend! Sorry, I can't make it for either of the days! :(

That's okay. It just means I'll get more exercise!

Stupid question.

Ok, here's my stupid question: why are you doing all this yourself? I'd hire a company to come in and clean it out and be done with it. Save a lot of time and stress.....?

I agree. I know money's always an issue....but I bet if you got ahold of the Woonsocket (right?) Fire Department they PROBABLY have a few burly men and women who'll haul carp for a pretty cheap hourly amount.

They also do that to help people move. I learned this in Missouri...that most fire departments' firefighters don't make much $$ and like to help people move carp. I had friends who used them to help pack their moving truck. My NewRoommate's parents used them in Northern Ohio to help them load a washer/dryer.

That might be a possiblity for you, if you find that it's just too much.

BTW, wish I were close enough to help.

I suppose I could try to call the fire department. I've never heard of such a thing! I wonder if it's a midwestern thing. I don't know /who/ does moving around my hometown.

I wish you were close enough to help, too.

I can't say that I know any companies in my rinkydink small hometown, though admittedly I haven't done much research. I also don't really have the cash to shell out for movers, not on the tail of the whole birthday weekend and presents thing.

Eh, a little hard work is good for the soul. My grandparents already think we're crazy that we're not going nuts trying to sell every last thing and are throwing a lot out. I think they would flip if I was paying people to move it around!

My muscles are, sadly, colocated with me on the other side of the world.

Hope it all goes well - make sure that you don't over-exert! I spent two days in agony after getting carried away during our renovations and lifting something that was far too heavy for me.

Lift wiz ze legs, baybee.

Yessir! I will be sure and lift with the legs!
