We're watching the train wreck that is "Skating with the Stars." I think the whole thing is fixed and it is so irritating! So tell me, please, how it is that crappy-ass Dave Coulier is getting higher scores than most of the other people. Gah, I can't stand Dave Coulier and just the fact that he is on my television willingly is going right up my butt. CUT. IT. OUT.

I thought that Todd Bridges's fumbled attempts were just the cutest things ever, especially with the "Whatchoo talkin' about?" tacked on at the end. And hello, Deborah Gibson? A+!

My coworker had pulled up a link at work for all of these 80s commercials, including the Encyclopedia Brittannica commercial with that nerdy dude that I had /completely/ forgotten about until I remembered, "I always wondered where my mandibula was." Aaah, good times, good times.

Two more days of work, and I can't even pretend it's one and a half... I'm trying to pack hours to make up for Monday off and I'm working until 7:30pm tomorrow and all day on Friday. What a travesty! That's two Fridays in a row! (Next Friday I'm ditching at 11 to go to my doctor's appointment.)

I always wondered where my mandibula was.

Oh god, no. That does not exist. At all.

Fox Exec: "I have an idea. Let's make a reality show. About Figure Skating. And invite Z-list Celebrities. And let's place the promo for it in every commercial break of the most logical place: Football Telecasts!"

[livejournal.com profile] amyura = Biggest skating fanatic ever.

Seriously, I have every major competition on tape dating back to 1992. Since our VCR doesn't work with our new TV/entertainment system, I've been TiVo-ing skating competitions for the past year. And since my husband and I got in an argument about feminism last night, I missed "Skating with the Stars."

Debbie Gibson annoys me. She's too perky, she got her start on Broadway after shoving the currently-at-the-time Eponine out of her role (my singing teacher was friends with the Eponine, and she ended up suing the producers), and she's somewhat of a religious fanatic.

Ever since I watched that season of The Surreal Life with Jordan Knight and Dave Coulier and Charo were the only mature, well-adjusted adults in the whole house I've had a new respect for him. But then, I try to pretend things like Full House and Lamest Home Videos never existed.

I was addicted to Dancing With the Stars last season. But it also had some interesting D-B list celebrities on it. I mean, how could I not want to watch my boyfriend Joey McIntyre competing in a dance contest with J. Peterman? And I so wish I could dance that I love watching other people do it...

Those commercials were awesome. I was sad they didn't have the "Does your daddy have a recipe" chicken McNugget one or the "Why they're even better than yours, Wanda!" Dunkin Donuts one. Fun all the same, though.

Didn't Alanis write "You Oughta Know" about Dave Coulier? Just think about that next time you are in a theater ;-P~

Dude, that "drag king" thing was like the funniest thing ever.

And yeah, that is the crappiest part of the commercial. Well, no. The whole thing is pretty terrible. But I love that madibula part!

Oh no! If I'd known, I would have taped it for you! :(

I like Deborah Gibson because she wears pigtail braids sometimes. That's all. I'm pretty easy to please. (Although I didn't know about the religion stuff.)

Jen was just watching "Dancing With the Stars" and Lisa Rinna was on it. She is still so cute. Just in case you didn't know there was a new season.

Nothing in the world will make me like Dave Coulier. He just makes me cringe inside. Yuck.

"Well I guess I won't be needing these anymore." And yes, "does your daddy have a recipe?" is the best McDonalds commercial EVER. There were so many great commercials in the 80s... that site doesn't do the decade enough delicious justice!

See, Lisa Rinna is starting to freak me out. She just looks like someone pickled her in 1996, then let her loose like some Billie Reed zombie. She was sporting a nice leathery tan at the Golden Globes, too, just for extra preservation. If I ever met her I'd be afraid she'd want to eat my brains.

Can a religious fanatic who poses naked in a men's magazine be all that bad, though?

(Yes, I have the issue.)

I'm sure I'll forget to watch it again. I just don't have the brain capacity for regular television watching.

I only call it that because it's the industry terminology. I was looking for a generic term. I guess I just should have outright said Maxim.

I think they moved it to Monday this week, which means no competition, so Tivo will record it.

It's true. Gretchen and Jodie are the only people in the world who avidly read "Entertainment Weekly."

Damn, I don't know my own porn-light library any more. :) It wasn't Maxim; it was Playboy, "Entertainment for Men [sic]".

(I think Maxim gets publicly filed here anyway and doesn't go into the secret porn stash. :) )

I don't think we subscribe to any magazines right now.

I only pick up Maxim, Playboy, etc. when the cover subject interests me. Or, in the case of Deborah Gibson, I knew the issue was coming out so I went looking for it. But Playboy? The articles aren't usually too overwhelming, and I can get better pictures daily on the Internet...I've heard. :)
