I went to Quirk to pick up my car today. They couldn't test it out to see if the new fuel pump was working because the gas cap was locked and I forgot to give them the key. Oops! So I brought it over and waited for them to test it out.

An hour of Fox News later (UGH), CSD gave me back the key to the rental car. After a "Whaaaa?" and a "You are KIDDING me!" he let me know that they tested out the new fuel pump and the car is actually running WORSE. I cautiously asked, "Are you saying there's something ELSE wrong?" and he said that the tech thought that perhaps they got a bum fuel pump. (Which flashed me back to a conversation last night with Steve, when he said that they might try to stick me with a used fuel pump.)

I left, took the smoke-smelling (yuck) rental and try to look at the positive - power windows and locks. Maybe I'll have a car tomorrow... but I refuse to cancel more home visits to take care of this stupid car.

I asked CSD to please just set it on fire.

It still better be only $90.

I actually had a dream last night that I was driving you to pick up your focus in my focus and when we got there they said that it wasn't the fuel pump that was causing the problems and I think that in my dream your head may have actually exploded. I blame the dream on worrying that my car is going to start doing the same stuff but it was pretty horrible. Hopefully it will all be over soon, I've found that while car problems are completely horrible while they're happening, they are soon forgotten in the grand scheme of life once you have your vehicle back.

Yeah, I'm sure once I'm back to tooling around in my crappy car, it will all be fine again. I mean, it's not the best car but it usually runs, you know?

What year is your Focus? Have you ever had any problems?

And yeah, your dream is correct - I think my head would really have actually exploded. We'll see what happens when they call today! :)

Mine is a 2002 ZX3 grey 2 door number, also without the auto locks and windows. The most trouble that I've had with it, knock on wood, is that one of the little black buttons in the back that you push to have the backseat fold down and expose the trunk is permanently pushed down and a few months ago my check engine light came on but it was a sensor that was bad and not the engine. All of MY problems have been with Ford Credit who continue to screw me every chance they get since the co-signer on my car filed for bankruptcy. They have even gone as far as to have my car repossed after I was 5 days late making a payment.

Wow, you've been lucky with your car and I am very happy for you about that. However, I hate the problems that you've had with Ford Credit. SUCKAGE! Jen financed our car through a bank, not through Ford. (Thank goodness!)

Good luck with that!
