Tasty snacks

Jen made creme brulee with dinner tonight and it was delicious. She made rice and beans and invited Gina and Ben over. Wow, it's a Gina-and-Ben-eriffic weekend, I guess. But Gina really wanted rice and beans, so they came over. And she made creme brulee. And it was tasty.
It's so hard when people (I say 'people' and not just 'Jen' because last Wednesday, Gina made a cheesecake for staff meeting) make delicious sweets and encourage me to eat them when I'm trying /so hard/ to not eat so many sweets and balance out my insulin resistance stuff. It's hard enough for me to not just think about sweets all the time, and right now I'm not at a point where I can say, "No thank you" when everyone else is eating sweets.
But oh my, it was tasty.
I also have decided to start supplementing my diet with flax oil for the omega-3s and its blood sugar stabilizing properties. I put some on top of my rice and beans today and mixed it in and I didn't even notice. So hopefully I can continue to do that.
