That's tres cool! At the Quakertown library they have an old cigarette machine that's been converted into an art-dispensing machine. The tokens are $5 each so I haven't bought anything from it yet, but it's a cool idea. Yay books!
I like books too, but these were kind of blah books and hello, they're on top of the peanuts! "Honey, could you get me a Snickers bar and a Tale of Two Cities?" ;)
When I was doing direct care, I used to have to sit in a bowling alley for a couple of hours with not much to do while one of my clients participate in league bowling. Maybe they're meant to keep people who are waiting around for league bowlers entertained?
One of them is Don Quixote, but I can't make out the other titles. (Sorry about the blurry photo - I couldn't use a flash because of the glass and the glass was dirty to boot.)
I don't know WHO they are for. It seems so random to me. It was almost as weird as the time Jen and I saw an /electronics/ dispenser in an airport (iPods, walkmans, etc.).
Counselor Survival Kits? I don't know. Maybe next time I will ask them. I wonder if the bowling alley owns the machines and decides what to put in it, or if it's some sort of "message" sent by the snack machine company? Note to kids: READ MORE LITERATURE.
Oh come on, bowling can be a good time if you don't take yourself too seriously. Did you get a glance at my terrible score on my Flickr page? I'm the worst bowler EVER.
