Another hot one today, though thankfully I didn't repeat yesterday's home visit phenomenon. I go to this one house that is /always/ hot - they don't open windows (I don't think they have screens), they don't have any fans or anything, and I think they cook a lot in the oven. Anyway, it is usually pretty hot there and I was concerned about my Monday visit but I figured it would be tolerable because it was early in the morning. It wasn't all that hot outside (maybe 80 or so?).
Within five minutes of being in the house, I was sweating. And I do mean full-on /sweating/, not just a little armpit action but total body sweating, where you can feel sweat running down your back and in your boobs and in the cracks of your knees and you have to keep wiping your face. And I wasn't doing /anything/, just filling out paperwork with the family. The papers were getting wet from my sweat and limp from the humidity. It had to be at least 100° in there.
I could not wait to get out of there and dry off. I told the family (two somewhat sickly grandparents and their 18-month old granddaughter) that it might not be a bad idea to spend a little time at the library or the grocery store or something, just to get a change of pace and a break from the sweating. And to seriously consider calling the landlord about the screens. But I'm not one who is usually concerned about all of the media hype about heat deaths and such (OH NO, HOT WEATHER), this was just bad. I've never been in a situation where I wasn't moving at all and I was sweating like I'd just been playing sports all afternoon.
Grossness.

Today was much nicer. Even though there was home visit sweat happening, it was much more manageable. No more running down the back! (Yuck.)
