Indigo Girls Concert
So it was amazing. They not only played "Devotion" which they don't always play and I love, but Amy belted out "Romeo and Juliet" which I don't think I've EVER heard on stage. So awesome. Also "Midnight Train to Georgia" which isn't unusual at all but it always lovely. WHOO-WHOO!
Also, they played about 4 songs from the album that will be coming out in September. They sounded good. :)
Also, the opening band (Three 5 Human?) was awesome as well, and there was a lot of hot duet action.
I gave
juliann's voicemail a call when they were playing "Kid Fears" because I had no idea what they would be playing. But then they played "The Wood Song" and eventually "Ghost." They never really play "Ghost" anymore. If I'd known, I'd have waited and called Juli then... I know she loves a little "Ghost."
I tried to take a picture with my phone but it seems that the zoom isn't working, so it's not a great picture. Poot.
p.s. I would have asked Amy Ray to come over for some babymaking, but I guess she probably wouldn't be able to help.

I've heard them play "Kid Fears" before - a couple of times, actually - but this time they brought out the singer from the opening band to sing the Michael Stipe part, which was nice. I'm not sure if I've ever heard "The Wood Song" before.
It was a pretty awesome show. They did most of the old, sing-along standbys... but put in enough of the other stuff to be different. And the new stuff helped with that.
One thing I'd love to hear live is "Faye Tucker." And I love when they sing "Go Go Go" but they don't do it much especially now that they're off the electric guitar kick. Oh yeah, they played "Hammer and Nail" and "World Falls" also. Shocking!

Sounds like an awesome setlist. Again, glad you had fun!

Closer to Fine, World Falls, Hammer and Nail, Get Out the Map, It's Alright, Dairy Queen, Trouble, and Galileo as an encore (of course).
I can't remember what else they played. it will come to me later.
And I figured you couldn't make it, and that's okay. You would have had a great time, but there are always other opportunities. I can always use another excuse to see the Girls. I never miss them!

Yeah, that's not the first time I've gotten that response. I'll take it as a compliment.

But yeah, they are so fun live because it's just one big sing-along. Although there were a lot more MEN there the other night than I had ever seen before. There was this dude next to me, probably in his 40s and with his wife... he knew "Closer to Fine" and kind of mouthed along but then proceeded to stare at me for most of the rest of the songs. Heh, I can't help it, I know them all. :)
