The cats caught a mouse this morning. A mouse! A real, live mouse! I think it was Fin. *vomits*

At around 4am, I was awoken to a *squeak squeak squeak* under my bed. And some soft growling. I got out of bed and turned on the light, and Fin was under the bed. I got a flashlight and he had SOMETHING HANGING OUT OF HIS MOUTH. Daedalus was giving him a staredown and I don't know who was growling. I turned on more lights and went to get some plastic bags. Fin went into the bathroom with his "toy" and wouldn't let it go. I had to distract him with petting with one hand and then snatched up the mouse with the other. SO GROSS.

I don't think I slept a wink until at LEAST 6am after that. Every little noise was another mouse that a cat was going to deposit on my head. Oh, lord. Freaking mice.

DISGUSTING.

we have mice in our new house. I keep telling the cats to catch them but, they aren't allow to bring them into the bed.

The last time my nikki kitty caught one, she had it up in the bedroom but thankfully I woke up before it was brought into the bed.

My fear, I'll miss the noise and turn over and feel it on my face somewhere. gross. yuck I just grossed myself out.

Tip cornered one in a box by the trash the other night. It's definitely that time of the year.

Hi - I just followed along from FF, and wanted to congratulate you on your little babies! :) I just had mine in June, and it was (and has continued to be) quite a ride...

My partner and I live in the Boston area too, and we're hoping to buy a home in the next few years, so we've got a bit in common - mind if I add you as a friend? You're welcome to add me back if you like, though my journal's mostly baby, baby, baby lately... lol!

Again, congratulations!

My mom was having the same problem all summer. Rufus brought home at least one new 'toy' per day be it a mouse, a mole, or a live bird. Lucky you!

It's just not the most fun thing to wake up to at 4am, you know?

We've always had them in the building but NEVER up on the third floor. I wonder where they are coming out of!

Thanks so much! We're actually leaving Boston over Thanksgiving weekend because we bought a house in the Northampton area, but I would love to read about baby, baby, baby!

Are you looking to buy a home in the Boston area? We couldn't even consider it, really.

Does Rufus go outside? I think I would prefer it if I had the comfort of thinking that the mouse was living outside instead of in my frickin' house! YUCK!!

(Poor widdle mousey, too.)

Well....

In my first apartment, my cats became expert *roach* hunters. (I lived in a cheap dive apartment above a restaurant. I hope to never do that again.) No mice, fortunately, but roaches *may* be worse... big ones, too...

We actually moved out here FROM the NoHo area (well, Holyoke, since we were priced out of NoHo itself)... if there were jobs out there for us, we'd love to live out there, but we just couldn't find the opportunities there that we have here.

sigh. I guess there's always a tradeoff, right?

Anyway, I'll add you - and good luck with the move! :)

Yeah, I get you. I am worried about whether or not I will find a job but my smoochie already has a job out there (she's been couch-surfing for several weeks) and I'm hoping that being a social worker who is rather flexible with what I will do/not do means that I will find something ASAP. But yeah, there's a total trade-off.

Lots more jobs here, lots more houses there. We just bought a tiny little place in Easthampton because we couldn't really swing Noho prices either.

Best of luck to you!

Okay, you win. I would MUCH rather have a mouse than a bunch of giant roaches.

EWWWWWWW.
