I didn't start noticably showing until I was in the mid 20 something weeks.

You know, if I could just ditch the waist I'd be okay. Like if I just had a /little/ roundness. I don't need to be full-on waddle... I just want to ditch the dorky waist!

don't worry, it will come. did you have no morning sickness (i'm sorry, i can't remember if you did!)? pretty soon.

at some point? you'll be ALL over the idea of not being pregnant anymore. enjoy this time, seriously!

I had no morning sickness. None. My only first trimester symptoms were tiredness and lots and LOTS of bleeding and spotting.

I am unsure about whether I feel movement.
I have a lot of abdominal pains.
I am waiting for some of the good stuff.

the fact that you had bleeding and spotting suuuuucks, but please let me assure you that not having morning sickness would rule. you'll feel movement before you know it. i know it's easy to worry. i don't want to make it seem less! but i promise, you'll feel kicking and squirming soon enough. hang in there. patience, jude, patience (ha! i'm one to talk!). :)

Oh, I am not complaining about the lack of morning sickness. It was just kind of unnerving with everything else, especially when people would say things like, "Oh, I feel sooooo sick but at least I know everything's going well with the baby!" And here I was always wondering if ANYTHING was going well with the baby and not having tha reassuring vomit or whatever. :)

I don't feel movement either (and I'm on my 3rd) and I don't really look pregnant either. Don't sweat it. :-)

Well, if we have other children (which of course I would like to but it depends kind of on $$$), it would be Jen's ute first (if she wanted to) and then adoption before I decided to go through the wringer again. Right now Jen wants to try to have a baby too (she was actually going to go first but I got impatient) so she gets first dibs. She almost lost her chance when we were having twins.

Ok, then this will be the first time I've ever said this:

(ok...not really. i still wish you were having twins just a little bit)

Yeah. I suppose in some ways it's better that we're not having twins but I sure do miss my other baby. :(

you know what - i totally forgot. i forgot you were pregnant with twins and then lost one. i was getting you confused with a friend of mine who thought she was having twins, was upset about it and then found out she was having just the one.

i am so sorry for what i said. i never would have said that if my head wasn't so far up my ass that all reasonable thought became impossible.

Don't even sweat it. Honestly. I'm sure you didn't mean anything bad and I don't think your head is up your ass. I would say that most people forget that we lost a baby a) because we don't really talk about it and b) because it was a while ago and stuff. It's harder for me to forget about because it's actually still hanging out in my uterus (well, that and it was my baby). So seriously don't worry about it.

It's weird to be happy and disappointed at the same time, you know? On one hand I know it would have been exceptionally hard to afford two babies at once and so this is probably "easier," but at the same time I can't for the life of me figure out why God would give us two little heartbeats and take one away.

I lost a baby and I can't relate to the mixed feelings you have now. It was the most traumatic thing that has happened to me since childhood, and as upsetting as it was, I think about how I'm glad I'm not raising a newborn right now. It's not that I'm glad I had the miscarriage - no way. We were SO happy to be pregnant. I guess I'm just glad we didn't try again. :D

I don't know the Why, either. But that's ok. For now. I'll ask later. :D

I remember when you lost your baby. So sad! :(

I remember with my first that I was so anxious to show, like every day I'd check and measure and look for different signs of popping out. But it didn't happen for MONTHS. I was thankful later however since I didn't gain a ton of weight overall and I wasn't ginormous at 9 months. But I know how you feel. You know you're pregnant but it's so nice when other can SEE that you're pregnant. We all want to be a little bit of a showoff! Hang in there, it will happen.

Yeah, I know you're right that I will be happy if I'm not huge and I don't gain a ton of weight. I don't WANT to gain a ton of weight and so far I'm pleased that I haven't, although I'm starting to suspect that my scale at home is totally busted because I weighed myself at my grandparents' house and had definitely put on a few pounds.

I just want to be at that cute stage where everyone knows you're pregnant but you're not TOO uncomfortable, either. :)

Granted I didn't get huge with any of my 3 pregnancies and had smallish babies [not too small for me - much easier for pushing! 2 were 6-6 and 1 was 7-6] but the cute stage didn't happen until 6-7 months. *I* could tell sooner but others couldn't much. But now the fitted maternity shirts are in much more to show off your little bump. Go for it!

You didn't get lucky with the hugely growing pregnancy bosom either? I was so envious of those people that did. Me growing to a 34C was a big deal for me! Sadly, I'm back to an A. joy. Fitting shirts and bathing suits are agony.

Yeah, I've gained boobage but not nearly enough to look like I have real boobs. Normally I don't mind but it's going to make maternity shirts later on HELL.

It will come. And you'll be feeling all those baby flutters and kicks and it will be the best time ever! Pretty soon!

with my first, i didn't start showing until i was like 22-24 weeks. i remember looking at pictures of myself on a hike when i was 20 weeks and you could not tell, not even a little, that i was knocked up. i already knew the fetal H was a girl at that point.

It's the damned waist. The waist is killing me. I would be cool with being small if I wasn't rocking the below-the-waist Giant Roll.

thre will be a time when you will look back and think "why woudl i ever want to look pregnant?" trust me. you will pop. and then hate it because jen will have to put on your socks. haha

Well THAT would be interesting because she goes to work 3 hours before I do! UH OH!

When I was at least 6 months pregnant, even at 7 months, I used to come home every day and report to my husband whether I got a seat on the bus. All I wanted was for someone to see my pregnant self get on the crowded bus and offer me their seat. I saw it happen to other pregnant women, and for some reason, that became my whole goal. Not one time. And, I'm a really nice approachable person. Everyone talks to me. I'm not even really cranky. But, I just didn't look pregnant. No one could tell until about a month and a half before my son was born. I just have some sort of cavernous torso is all I can figure. I couldn't even ever wear the elastic panel pants through the whole thing, because I just had this long section of extra padding -no round bump.

I had to wear just really big pants that were too big on my butt and skirts. SO sad. But it will happen. After a while I just started wearing maternity shirts just so people would know. It will happen. No one ever tells you it takes so long to show.

Ha ha, that is so awesome that you had a "Bus Test." What a clever idea! (But I wouldn't take it as a sign of not always looking pregnant, because I've seen a lot of people on buses not get up for older folks, people who look like they're having a hard time standing, and obviously pregnant women. I don't know what's up with that.)

And yeah, I'm just rocking the extra padding, too. Ugh. I can't wear maternity shirts AT ALL because they're all made for big, happy, pregnant boobs and I'm pretty much a smallish B and they all look ridiculous. It's a curse!

Yeah, I know it's still early and I know I'm impatient. Usually I'm okay, it's just this dang wedding. Damn you, wedding! :)

Oh I know how you feel. I just looked fat & tired until the end of my 5th month and then it seemed as if one morning I just popped and I looked pregnant. I also had no morning sickness. Hardly any cravings- just comfort food. I did get a lot of heartburn though. Now the 2nd pregnancy - I looked pregnant by 14 weeks.

I use to drink milk and they lay really still for a while & I would feel the baby move. The first time it happened I was not even sure if that is what it was. Then as it started happening more often I realized it was the baby.
I also swore I felt my hip bones spreading- my husband thought I was nuts. I loved being pregnant- well the 2nd trimester I loved. The 1st I always stressed out and the 3rd I wanted it over already ! Enjoy every moment!

I /think/ I feel the baby move sometimes, but only at work and only when I've been sitting in my uncomfortable work chair. Is that weird? Sometimes I wonder if I'm squishing the poor thing the way that chair is so awful and the back doesn't recline at all. Ugh, I hate that chair but the chance of them getting me a new one is practically zero.

I just don't spend much time at work so I would love love love to feel the baby move one time at home!

Enjoy the fact that you do not look like a lopsided whale right now. No, in all seriousness I know you want to show. It's different for everyone and I promise you'll get a nice, round belly soon! Once it starts growing it doesn't stop!!!

I'm not looking forward to the painful waddling stage, just the cute stage where everyone says how adorable you are. What can I say, I'm totally vain. :) Maybe I wouldn't feel this weird if I hadn't just dropped a ton of weight and now I just feel like I gained it all back in lightning speed!
