As much as people and their assumptions from the outside can be awful and troublesome, though, you can't let it change your mind one way or another about something this important in life.
Will you lose street cred? Well, it seems so, for a year or so. But the thing to remember (you too, Jude) is that pregnancy is a short-term commitment. It's the *parenting* part that comes after that's the long haul.
