Baby's first cold
Oct. 26th, 2007 08:50 pmMy little punk has her first cold! She was so snorty and stuff today, and every so often if she was laying down for a long time, she would cough and sputter on the mucus. It was so pitiful and pathetic and sad. Her little nose was running and she was so crabby and took a lot of naps. I had her nap in the swing a couple of times because it's nice and elevated and seemed to keep her from clogging up. And then we went and got a humidifier for her - been meaning to do that anyway.
Dr. Sears says warm mist vaporizer but I've always been told that warm mist breeds germs and mold. So I got the cool mist. They should technically both work, right? I hate warm mist, it's like sleeping in a sweaty locker room. And I'm paranoid about mold.
Either way, she is blissfully sleeping now and hopefully will be like that for a long time. I hope the humidifier is enough to do the trick, and that she's getting enough breastmilk (even an ounce if that helps) to get SOME antibodies to fight this thing. Last night she didn't sleep well AT ALL, which means I didn't sleep well at all, which is no good. Besides, I hate to see her crabby and miserable.
Poor little peanut.
