Stupid towels

WTF is up with all of those effing towels? They had them in Cleveland and they have them in Denver, too. They are the most annoying things ever.

I am going to strangle all of them with their fecking towels.

Bring back the foam finger, people!!

ETA: They will need their towels to wipe all their sad widdle tears when they LOSE!

At least they aren't using thunder sticks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thundersticks) like the Angels fans did (or maybe they have some of those too, I don't have tv). SO annoying.

Thankfully I have seen no Thunder Sticks. But I am so tired of seeing those stupid towels whipping around.

They are probably copying our esteemed Pittsburgh Steelers Terrible Towel.

You've seen it maybe -- we mopped up the Bengals with it today ;-)

I don't want other cities to steal our towel. It's supposed to be a Burgh thing, damnit! ;-)

I haven't had much reading/commenting time lately, so I'll take this moment to say that your baby girl is beautiful and amazing. I hope to meet her one of these days. I also have a box of things to send her -- must do that very soon!

You know, I'm not annoyed with the Terrible Towel because, well, it was a Pgh thing. But now there are towels EVERYWHERE and that is just too much.

Besides, the Terrible Towel is yellow and that's better than these stupid white facecloths.

FOR THEIR TEARS

I like that one.

I don't know if this is the first use, but it goes back to at least the 1850s to wave white handkerchiefs at the bullfight, to signal that the bullfighter should be presented with his prize (I only know this from a production of Carmen I was in over the summer). I would assume that the old tradition and the current incarnation are somehow related.

Either way, it seems like a pretty new phenomenon for baseball. I never saw it before the ALCS... then again, I have been sporadic in my baseball watching until Soxtober.

I am just so tired of looking at those circling hankies.

I just read up on the terrble towel thing- apparently some sports announcer thinks he invented it, but it goes way back in bullfighting.

It is annoying. Oh, in baseball it was first used in 1987, with the Twins.

Really? Wow.

All of a sudden, everyone wants in. Whatever. I will never wave a towel around.
