I spend half of my day amusing a baby and the other half creeping stealthily around my house like some sort of [livejournal.com profile] psychostalker. It's quite odd.

Now that my kid can amuse herself on the floor for a little while at a time, I feel like a whole person and not just a set of arms. It's pretty cool, actually. She can grunt her fool head off on the floor and every so often look up at me and laugh. And then roll over for the 879234567923478th time.

This is how I spend my day:
  1. Watch baby roll over.

  2. Watch baby's arm get stuck under baby.

  3. Watch baby get pissed off.

  4. Go over and unstick baby's arm.

  5. Watch baby do push-ups for a while.

  6. Watch baby get tired of being on her belly.

  7. Watch baby get pissed off.

  8. Go over and flip baby.

  9. Watch baby /immediately/ roll over.

  10. Goto 1.

I really need to teach her how to roll back over.

Look at the bright side. She's not wasting time, she's building up the XP needed to buy another level of "Roll over." That next level is where you learn to return to your original position.

A few more levels, and she'll be able to buy "Sit up."

Be careful though, some babies save up the XP to buy their first level of "Run" BEFORE they buy their first level of "Walk." This is disorienting for you and the baby and can result in a lot of lost HP due to collisions...

Oh my gosh, can you be any more of a geek? I mean, really. You have amazed me with your geekitude!! :)

She is working on "sit up" and "roll over" all at the same time. It is crazy!

Oh yeah, she is SO wanting to be there. I have never in my life seen a baby so determined to GO somewhere. I see all of these babies who want to be cuddled by their mamas, and then there's my baby who just wants to get down on the floor and try to GET SOMEWHERE.

"can you be any more of a geek?"

Well, I suppose I could have, but I never had the math skills for Electrical Engineering and I'm far too much of a social butterfly to be a true outcast.

Besides, a bit Geek cred is lost by getting married and reproducing.

Naw, some geeks marry and reproduce. And sometimes they have geeky offspring! Will you?

Oh, we will have to wait and see. :)

I think geek is the new chic, so your social butterfly-ness fits right in!
