I hate when "shoo-in" and "inevitable" get used in regards to a championship. Especially since the Pats have looked like a team going through the motions since about the Baltimore game. Add in Brady's ankle, which was marginal, and a line that couldn't block for beans. And Light pisses me off so much. Over the last three or four years, I've lost count of his crucial false start and holding penalties. As my coaches used to say, it's not that hard, you just have to know how to count to two. And if Rodney Harrison bats that ball away instead of trying to catch it off of Tyree's helmet, Tyree doesn't make that fantastic drive-saving catch. He held it there long enough for Tyree to get his hands on it. Ugh...what a bummer of a game. Every time they got the ball when it was 7-3 I was saying "come on, we need a TD here. Killer instinct. Put some nails in the coffin." They just didn't have that killer instinct last night, though. :(
And so the rationalization begins... Tom Brady had an owie. Rodney Harrison got greedy. If only this. If only that.
And yet, nowhere do I see any credit for the Giants. Just excuses for the Pats. The excuse game works both ways. If the Pats hadn't converted on that fake punt, you would have been screwed. If the Giants didn't turn over the ball that one time, they would have scored.
