Productive Saturday

Hey Bostonians - Does anyone want to put me up next Saturday night? I am hoping to go to a Black 47 concert with my college roommate like old times but really am too old to drive back home after. And umm, a night of unbroken sleep? Come on! I'm housebroken and really want to take advantage of Jen's offer!

Since there is no denying that we have a totally mobile child (she has been army crawling for a good three weeks now but is full on four-on-the-floor with speed now), it was time to rearrange some things. I moved the TV stand into the corner so I could hide all of the wires and taped them all to the back of the stand, and pulled some of the breakable stuff off the lower shelf of the coffee table. Jen took the baby to the mall so I could spray-clean the life out of the TV and all of the electronics (man, they were gross) and came back with some of those square foam floor mats so we could put them down on the living room floor. The blankets I've had down there for a long time kept getting full of cat fur and I was tired of it. This is much better. Besides, the blankets never really padded the wood floor enough.

Punk has a runny nose and has been out of sorts on and off today. Poor little peanut. She went to bed at 6:30 and woke up crying at 7, absolutely refusing to go back into the crib. I was able to get her back to sleep on the futon and walk away easily, but I think she's just too sad and off-kilter that just the idea of the crib was too much.

I think we're going to try moving our bed against the wall so she can sleep there and we can take the futon out of her room. That way I can babyproof her room really well and she can play in there, too. Our house is too small to keep her only in the living room.

I am seriously sick of winter. We got MORE snow yesterday - probably about 10 inches. I feel like we'll never be able to play outside again. It's that time of year when you really start to feel like spring will never come. Punk and I are so tired of being cooped up in the house. But I did manage to make a banana bread today and even put some ground flax seed in it. Yum!

I have a very good sofa (the size of a twin bed) that you can sleep on, I'm up late so you won't disturb me coming here late, and parking passes. Comfort level of sofa: if you get an offer to stay on a futon, the sofa is more comfy. If you get an offer to sleep on a real bed, go for that (to give you an idea). I occasionally sleep on it instead of my bed just to do so.

I moved last September, btw. Not far; we're on the South Side of Porter Square, so still *very* close (Tyler considers it walkable, but I won't until the freakin' snow stops and it gets into the 60s consistantly).

Yeah, I don't think I would walk in the chilly weather. Maybe it will be warm on Saturday.

I will e-mail you so we can arrange this. Is it cool with the roommates? I know you like to sleep late in the morning/afternoon so I figured I would just sneak out and not bother you. :)

I forgot I had agreed to a party this Saturday night; it's only 2 blocks from here, though, so it won't be a problem. My roommates are often gone on weekends, 'cause of the wimmin. S'cool. You could come to the party and I'll bring you back here.

We're supposed to get in the 40's tomorrow and I am so excited about it! We've been so cold that half the time I don't even want to take her to daycare, but I have to because I have to go to school.

I'm planning a nice walk around the neighborhood... which is about an hour long, but can be extended if I do *all* the streets instead of just our usual rounds. Who knows when our next chance will be... we're supposed to have freezing rain and snow on Monday.

I took a walk with Punk on Monday. We were both so sick but I just had to get out. It felt good to be outside but I was soooo tired after. Still, I can't wait for spring. Can't. Wait.

the hubby loves black 47. i never knew anyone besides him who knew them!

my two aren't quite mobile, but they do sort of roll and scoot around. they can't get far, though.

That's cool! I love them so much! I have seen them quite a few times in NY and Boston and even Columbus, OH. So fun! Your hub has good taste. (And similarly, I don't know anyone else who knows them, either!)

I miss the days where the kid couldn't get far. Today she followed Ralph into the kitchen (we were in the living room) and discovered... the water dish. ARGH! She kept going back. No object permanence, my ass!

I hear you on th snow thing. Though today it's supposed to be 39 degrees! Unheard of! But then we are going to be getting another 8 inches tonight. Hurray for 90-95 inches of snow so far this winter! (sarcasm)

I wish I could go to a Black 47 concert with you! I loved them when I was in college. I think I saw them once, but of course never went to see them in NYC when they were playing there like every week. Cuz I'm a dork. I hope you have fun, especially during your interruption-free night's sleep! (boy, the things we find exciting nowadays...)

I was at college on Long Island so it was really close to go see B47, but they only played in bars and I wasn't 21 until my senior year! So we only got to go a couple of times, sad sad sad. Jodie (my roommate) and I used to always go together... and now we're going again. So fun!

I bet I will be so tired and OLD that I will be whining the whole time, who am I kidding? And I'll probably wake up a million times throughout the night, too.

so much going on with you guys and the punk. the moving is exciting, but so freakin' exhausting. a night away sounds great for you! penny is going away for a night this week for work and i am DREADING it! i will be alone with the twins all day thursday (i am home with them regularly on th), th night, friday morning for getting ready for daycare, and friday night for dinner and bedtime. shoot me now! ugh! anyway, hang in there with the snow. this winter can't last forever, can it?????
