It's 6:41am and the other members of my household (save the cats) are asleep. And yet, here I am. I could be in the glorious world of sleep, but I got tired of trying so hard to fall asleep and decided to just give in to the awake. I don't even know what to do with myself. Punk is asleep in her crib and Jen is sawing logs loudly beside me. It's a rainy, cloudy morning, so I can't even blame the sun for my lack of sleeping-ness.

Punk spent all night in her crib. I can't even believe it. She woke up at some point after I went to bed and Jen took care of it, but it was brief, and then she slept until 5:30am when I told Jen to give her a bottle. I listened for a minute but all was quiet, so I dozed off again until she was gristling loudly around 6. After listening for a few minutes to see if she would work it out, I got up and tried to get her to go back to sleep in the crib, but she wasn't having it. She was wired. So I took her to the rocking chair and rocked her back to sleep, then plopped her back in the crib, leaving the room by 6:20. And tried to go back to sleep.

I think my body is totally confused because I slept for about 7 glorious hours (10:30-5:30) in the big people bed with only a brief wake-up. My head is fuzzy and tired and wants to sleep more, and my body says that I've already slept far too much.

I hope this crib thing isn't a one-day thing, but I'm not holding my breath. Teeth #4 and #5 broke skin in the last two days (they are but brief nubs poking through), and well, I know my kid. She doesn't do any one thing for any amount of time. :)

Man, I wish I were sleeping. She'll probably wake up around 7:20 or so. I could be getting another half hour of sleep. The ironic thing is that if I were in her room laying on the futon with her right now, I would be sleeping - between the blacked-out windows, the sound machine, and the lack of Jen's snoring, I would be good to go. Aaah, irony. Turn on the coffee pot, would ya?

I have the hardest time going back to sleep after getting up with Emma. She had a good sleep night last night and I know it's just the calm before the storm. Her 4th molar has yet to come through and her eye teeth seem to be emerging. Yikes!

I have a super hard time going back to sleep if Tim is home in the morning. When he leaves for work and it's just me and the Bit I am down in no time, but he if there...snoring....I take forever doing it. Thank god for earplugs, though now I am worried one is going to fall out and into Morella's oosleeper where she will pick one up, put it in her mouth and choke on it.

Quiet time is pretty freaking nice. Occasionally I will get up early just to enjoy it.

I love how our babies have fried us so much that when they do what we've been longing for them to do-- sleep through the night-- we don't sleep. o, the crappy irony.
