First day of child care

About 40 minutes ago, I backed out of the driveway and left my Punkin with her child care provider. I hung out there for about 40 minutes and watched her overstimulate herself on new toys (especially new toys with electronics and music and flashy lights, oy!) and then I said goodbye and left. I realized after a while that I forgot to leave my cell phone number, so I called around 10ish and M was about to give Punk her bottle and attempt some nap action. *crosses fingers* I will pick her up around 12:30 unless I get a call.

I am now in Panera (so I am close by) enjoying free wi-fi, a yummy bagel, and some coffee. I am about to start job searching. I bought printer ink and resume paper.

I do not like this one bit. M is going to have fun with my awesome baby and I am sitting here looking at other people's kids. At least I could see her starting to poop as I backed into the street.

hugs. it's hard, but hopefully it'll be a relief to you to have actual time to job search. trying to search and do child care is hard. this way, you can search for jobs knowing Punk is being cared for. then when you pick her up, that time can be yours and hers, without you stressing about when you're going to have time to find a job.

i don't know if that comforts you, but it's what helps me deal with J. being in day care.

hang in there and try to enjoy your solo time. being away and having her in day care will get easier, i promise! oh, and day care pooping is the best. we always tell j and t...pooping at day care is good. do all you pooping at day care! lol! thinking of you!

Well, except for the part where we use cloth diapers and by law, the child care provider has to send EVERYTHING home when you CD and can't even shake the poop into the toilet!

WHAT??? the poop has to come home? are you serious? that is so crazy! what is the reason that cloth diapered babies have to go home with their poop, but disposable diapered babies can leave their poop at daycare? that is one of the weirdest things i have ever heard, i swear to god!

I am not 100% on why, but I know that it is true and she is not telling me bunk. I guess because with disposables you just wrap them up and throw them out, but with cloth you would have to kind of come into contact with the poop? Beats me but hello, GROSS! :)

Apparently it is just the big centers that have the poop rule, because my home-based lady shakes the poop in the toilet. YAY!!

Freakin daycare providers are real sticklers about that one.

The law that says you can't throw solid human waste in the garbage can? That you have to dump the contents of disposables? They'd rather not talk about that.

Oh, hon. Today was my first day back after a week home with the boy and it is not so easy. Especially since I just got an email from C. that he learned to roll over today. She caught it on video, bless her (and it's not like he learned at daycare, he learned with Mommy) but...ouch.

I still can't get my head around the fact that when you pick up the Punk that you will also be gifted with a poop bag. That just ain't right!
