No tears, only happy things.
Nov. 26th, 2001 09:36 pm(I'll be totally good and not even recount any of the hysterically embarrassing things 'stina said all weekend. Really.)
Friday night,
kungfoogirl and I went to The Melting Pot. I had been vascillating between there and Haiku, and Clint (
dch4) suggested fondue, so the decision was made. We went late, due to much futzing around, but got there and had a lovely time. We make a good team - I gave her all of the pineapples and in return, I got all of the bananas. Mmmm. Chocolate covered bananas. We got home Friday night and watched The Goonies, reciting nearly every line. Lots of fun. I got to show her the deleted scenes in the DVD. YAY!
Saturday involved some tedium, but that was okay. I had to take my car in to get an oil change, and it ended up also needing belts and a pulley or something (yeah, I was paying attention, unh hunh), so it took an hour and a half or so. Bleh. We got breakfast and talked and the time went by, and that was cool. I got my car washed, so of course it rained. We were going to go out at night, and we did go to Little Dragons for chinese food (mmmmmm), but stayed in after that and watched "Blind Date" and flipped tv channels until giving up and deciding on bed. We put the dog in the bathroom so the kitties could reclaim their bed. Somewhere in there, Scout chewed my paper journal. Bummer.
Sunday involved much sleeping late and then brunch with
happy2beso. We went to a diner in the Short North and then wandered down to the North Market where she flirted with Daniel the Chocolatier and we all got free truffles. Ms. Happy also bought me and 'stina a cookies and creme cluster which was SOOOO good, and 'stina gave her number to Daniel to possibly design a website for his shop. Excellent! (He can pay in chocolate, mmmm!)
We headed back to take care of the dog and then enjoyed each other's company for a while until it was time to go to see the Psychedelic Furs and Echo and the Bunnymen. The Parking Gods were smiling on me, and I ended up getting a place in the little lot behind the Moritz Law Building right across from the Newport. SCORE! We talked to
jost on the way about Big Pimpin', getting your flirt on, and
thecommittee. Word. The show was incredible. But you can probably tell that from my last post. I was in new wave heaven. God. So amazing. I called
rizzo41 during "Pretty in Pink." They played so many good songs: Heaven, Love My Way, President Gas, The Ghost In You, Heartbreak Beat... so good. Soooo goooood. Yay!
After the Furs, I had a headache from hell (probably due to hypoglycemia) and we went to sleep. This morning, we said goodbyes. Blah. And then I downloaded some Furs mp3 and went to work. Now I need someone to encourage me to do this paper. Please?

"Hey! Welcome. Come on in. You ladies can take off your shirts, if you want."
Or something like that. =) =)
