hope_persists FTW! I just had a nice chat with a day care provider who comes with rave reviews and will be meeting her on Friday. Jen is also seeing a day care tomorrow that had a nice little blurb with the referral people (specifically said no TV).
GOOD.

Date: 2008-08-13 02:12 pm (UTC)At her new daycare/pre-school, they told us in ADVANCE that at the end of the day, on rainy days, they do indeed use some tv. I feel that telling me in advance helped to soften the blow. I've also realized that ultimately, it's what she does at HOME that has the most impact.
And when I'm stuck with my beloved cheeky all day long, and I'm tired, sick, and cranky, let me tell you how much I love me some "elmo on demand."
So for what it's worth, I'm coming to realize that the TV isn't such a bad thing afterall... ;)

Date: 2008-08-13 02:27 pm (UTC)And I totally am known to use a little TV if I have to put Punk in the PnP and run into the basement. I know the uses of TV. And when she's older, I can totally see some TV to thwart an early waker, or something, or maybe to make lunch or cook dinner or whatever.
But if I am paying someone to provide child care, I would like them to care for my child sometimes. And 2+ hours of TV per day (not including the occasional rainy day video) is more than I care to pay for.
:)
