So we all know how I feel about crocs. I will concede that they can be convenient for kids, especially with water play or visits to the beach or something like that. I get it.

Jen's brother bought Punk an outfit for her birthday and I was impressed with his clothes-choosing skills (his ex used to do all of the gift-choosing) - a cute little denim overall skirt and a pink shirt with the recycle symbol all over it (organic, even!)... but of course they came with a pair of pink knock-off crocs. Of course.

They were way too big so it was never an issue (they are size 6, Punk is a 4) but Punk is OBSESSED with them. She wants to play with them. She insists that I put them on her feet 87743871918293 times per day. When they are on, she kicks her feet and laughs and laughs.

Damn you, crocs!!

Yeah. I think they're okay for nurses (who are pretty much wearing pajamas to work anyway, and I concede that right to them for all that they do), but that's about it. And Julia LOVES her crocs. LOVES them.

I'm an almost nurse (5 months!)- we don't really wear scrubs because they're comfortable (cause some of them aren't- it can be hard to get a good fit in "pajamas"). There's actually a number of reasons, many of which have to do with the historical hierarchy of hospitals and such (it's actually a topic that's been written quite a bit about in nursing journals), but the most practical reason is because they can be obtained cheaply and replaced or cleaned easily- something that's important when you clean poop and change wound dressings and are exposed to nasty hospital-grade pathogens for a living. They're also really quick to change out of when you need to put on sterile scrubs to go into the OR or if the hospital you work in won't let you wear your scrubs outside of the hospital (like going to and from work, because of germ issues).

As for the shoes- I prefer Dansko clogs, hands down. They're much more comfortable, but Crocs are cheaper and easier to clean.

Sorry, the "pajama" thing sounded like a crack.

Yeah, the thing is she wants them to STAY on and they are way too big, so they just keep falling off! Maybe next year!

Your attempts to shield Punk from embarrassing footwear have been thwarted! My grandmother wears a pair of white crocs with rhinestones (ahem, yes, rhinestones!) that Mara can't take her eyes off of. Uh oh.

I feel the exact same way about crocs. My parents got Finn a pair in April and they were too big. Thought we were off the hook. Finn LOVES them. I mean LOVES LOVES LOVES. He finds them and whines for us to put them one. He toddles around the house. He actually outgrew them and it was a horrible tragedy (for him, not me). I hate the shoes but the boy has found a passion and I can't deny him, so we're getting another pair.

Damn you, crocs!

p.s. bicoastal twins again :)

I know, there must be something in that damned plastic that is addictive to kids!

She wants to wear them SO badly, but they are like clown shoes on her. So she begs me to put them on (sitting on her butt and waving her little feet in the air while offering me the damned crocs) and then they fall off as soon as she tries to do something. Repeat repeat repeat.

How big are Finner's feet? Does he want some hot pink crocs with butterflies? ;)

He would LOVE some hot pink crocs with butterflies and he is about a size 6 now ;). He loves shoes and always goes for anything combinatin of pink, red and/or sparkles. So cute.

He also insisted on wearing them way before he should. We finally gave in.

My Hubby has a pair of the real Crocs and I have a paor of the knock off that I wear at the pool. Hubby use to keep his by the door incase he need to run out to the car, mailbox etc. But icon kitty Momma Kitty started moving them all over the house and chewing on them. The are now full of holes from her. She even broke into his closet to steal them.

Ugh. I hate them too, and my mom got N a pair for her birthday. She loves them - they are godawful hot pink - and wears them a lot. They are very convenient for times when she may/will get wet (sprinkler, fountains, pool, gardening) but bleah.

I have no intention of buying more for her. Dunno where Cait stands on the matter. But if I have any say, she'll only get more if my mom gets her more. Which she probably will.

I hate/love them.

Hiding head in shame, bought a pair this weekend. OMG are they comfortable. I may never buy another pair of shoes again.

Yes, I think they are ugly too.

What is it with the effing croc phenomenon?! Who developed them? And why? And why oh why do people like them so very much?

At least you're saved by the size difference . . . for now! ;-)

We resisted teh crocs until I found a pair of "Frocks" (fake crocs) at Marshalls for 6 bucks.

Cheeky LOVES them, and with a walking toddler, rushing to get out of the door? It shaves a darn good 4 minutes off of our morning insanity, so I'm all "huzzah!" ;)
