I have gained a lot of weight. A LOT of weight. Sure I gained a bunch when I was pregnant, and it never really went away (except for the baby part), and now there is more. It's like I never lost those 30 pounds in 2006. How freaking depressing. I have to do something about that but I have gotten into such BAD eating habits when I was in New Baby Survival Mode and now I need to get out of them. Ugh ugh ugh. FAT.

I should post a locked post about my job sometime, because it is its own story for sure.

Punk started her new day care today and I had to do the drop-off because Jen had to do something. Usually Jen does the drop-off. I am not good at the drop-off because I just want to stay and play. And Punk wants me to stay and play. But she apparently stopped being upset after a few minutes and actually took at least one nap (not sure about the second, but I think so) in a new place with no pacifier, because I forgot it. Whoops. Go Punk! And of course she went to sleep with no rocking or swaddle, because it is Not Home.

She didn't particularly want to go to bed tonight but I made it happen. She was super restless, though. I hope it sticks.

I want a Wii and a Wii Fit. I want it to be my diet plan. But it is impossible to find a Wii! *whine* I also want to get back into martial arts and am looking for a good place to do that. There's one martial arts school inside of the Northampton Athletic Club that is free if you pay the NAC gym rates (about $50/month). There is also a women-only school in Easthampton that has a sliding scale fee and is supposedly open to all abilities. I don't really have $50/month but I don't do anything for myself and hopefully I can make something happen. I need to get back into shape BADLY. Ugh.

It was kind of cool to send Punk to a day care that provides meals and snacks. I didn't have to pack any food! It was awesome. Of course, that awesomeness was a little negated by sending disposable diapers. I think I will try to bring the issue back up in a little while after I've successfully shmoozed the lady with my adorable child.

Day care lady (Kathy) told Jen today that Punk will be walking "any day now." Heh. People have been saying that about her since a little before her 1st birthday. WRONG, SUCKERS!! She will be crawling to kindergarten.

Did I mention that I'm super fat? Because I am. UGH UGH UGH UGH. I'm the fattest I've been since I started losing weight and of course my high school reunion is coming up.

FAT.

I was thinking about selling my Wii and Wii Fit. I have a ton of games and peripherals, though, so I'm not sure if you'd want all that. I'd have no problem boxing it up and sending it to you, though!

Ooooh - why are you selling it? Preparation for baby? Not as fun as you thought?

More important, how much? I don't usually do used but you're a "good home," so that's different. :)

I don't know about the other games, depends on what they are. We don't have a lot of time for video games these days...

No idea what I'd sell for. I'd have to sit down and see what they're going for and then cut it quite a bit because I'm selling to a friend and not some stranger on eBay. ;-)

We have about 8 games...Zelda, some puzzle/party games like Mario Party and Cranium, the sports pack, and a couple of other random ones. And the Wii Fit, of course. A good mix.

Puzzle/party games could be fun but anything that is time-consuming like Zelda would probably be a no-go because of the AMAZING NO-SLEEP TODDLER FACTOR. Hmm. Think about it and come up with a number and I'll talk to my "people". :)

Oh, and I'm wanting to sell because I want an XBox360 instead.

Oh. I see. I know NOTHING about video games and game systems. I have a Nintendo DS that I pretty much never use. I am awesome.

I had no trouble finding a Wii (always available at Walmart) but I can't find a Wii Fit.

Have you considered Weight Watchers? It seems a little hokey, but it works so well! I don't feel deprived at all and I've lost about 9 pounds in the past month. I find the meetings and weigh ins to be be really motivational for me. I'd be happy to fill you in more about WW if you're interested. For me, it's easier to change my eating patterns than it is to exercise regularly.

Me fat too. I've gained 30 pounds since I moved here. Damned supersizing and not walking/subwaying/busing everywhere!

Wanna go swim at the Y or something like that sometime?
Does the Y do scholarships here? In Canada, they do a budget analysis, what-can-you-afford kind of thing.

If you wanna walk laps at the dog park some Friday afternoon/on weekends/whenever you have a spare moment, I'm game. I'm always walkin' my dorg, and I would happily take turns carrying Ms. August if you would like.

I got my Wii for less than face value (granted, I had a coupon...) on ebay. Wii Fit, not so much. I use this site and even caught one in-stock moment but then backed out 'cause I shouldn't be spending money:

I played the Wii Fit at a friend's house. It is WAY fun.

Here is how to find a Wii:

On thursday or so, go to the amazon page for the wii. Scroll down to the bottom to the discussions. There is a guy who will post what weekly ads will have the wii. Then, about an hour before that place opens on sunday go and stand in line (you shouldn't have to wait more than an hour). Each store will have a minimum (usually 10, sometimes more). Store Opens, you buy a Wii.. everyone is happy.

I have gotten 5 Wiis for friends this way. If you lived closer I would do it for you too, but its really not hard at all.

I must caution you though, you might have to wait a few weeks (usually no more than 3) before a store actually has them in thier Sunday ad, but armed with this knowledge you should get one quickly.

you have to ASK for the wii and wii fit esp at walmart, they usually have them under the counter and not out.
we used it a few times, but it is hard with jaxen wanting to stand on it with me all the time.
it is hard losing the weight. i keep eating the same as when i was pregnant even 2 years later and my weight is going up and down depending on the amount of yard work i am doing.
good luck, you can do it..

Do you need a Wii to use Wii Fit? Or can you just get a Wii Fit without getting a Wii?

(I've never played a Wii - I'm clearly clueless)

You COULD, but it wouldn't be nearly as fun or useful!

We have also been getting that "Walking Any Day Now" comment for about 4 months. Ha. Right. He walks. When holding onto my finger or a wall. I will be accompanying him to college with one finger extended to him, apparently. Of course, I also thought I would be feeding him finger food forever because the Little Prince wouldn't deign to pick up his own food. And now he does. So there's that.
