Perhaps it is safe not to jinx now:
Feb. 3rd, 2009 09:35 pmAt 18 months, we FINALLY got rid of the swaddle. For good.
At 19 months, she has started putting herself to sleep after cuddles in the rocker. Tonight, she didn't even really protest aside from saying, "no," when I said, "In one minute, you're going to go night-night in your crib." Heck, she asked for my hand when she was in the crib, and I held her hand for a bit and then told her I was going to go and she said, "bye." And I haven't heard a peep from her since.
Of course, now that I typed that, she just whimpered in her sleep. But seriously? Awesome!

Date: 2009-02-04 02:56 am (UTC)I can't believe she stuck with the swaddle for so long. wow.
there's nothing better than finally being able to leave the room when they're awake and have them just fall asleep. no big whoop. like they've been doing it all along.
i'm guessing that's what all levels of growing up are going to be like for me. just amazement that they can do something that was previously unimaginable. it's so cool.
