I placed my child in the crib at 12:30pm and she squealed, sang, played, and generally made a ruckus until about 5 minutes ago... when she fell asleep. Almost 2 hours later. Upside down, butt in the air.

Umm, this is usually wake-up time around these parts. WTF?

Emma went through a similar stage at Punk's age. I think it was some developmental thing like her brain was just too busy to rest.

Exactly what I was thinking. They reach this age where they realize there are actually options in life.

Fortunately, they soon forget this for a while until they're about 14.
