I have been dallying with paying it off for the past several years... but the interest rate has been so low (it's a variable rate and the rates have been GOOOOOD) and the payments were so low that it just plain didn't matter one way or the other. I'm pretty sure my loan was something like $7k or $8k from my one year at BU, and I put it on hold when I was at OSU. I was paying something like $80/month for the last several years.

It was just over $1k recently, so I figured, eh, why not?

Yea of all yeas! I don't actually *start* paying mine off until November, and it's going to be about 1/3 of my salary I think... -- Emily
