During the convention last year, when they did that big tribute to Teddy (with photos of him sailing, etc.), my five-year old daughter became extremely attached to him. Whenever she saw an older gentleman on television, she'd say "It's Teddy!" Even during the inauguration, she was nearly as excited to see Teddy onscreen as she was to see the president.
It was really sad this morning, waking up to NPR telling us that he's gone. She asked why they were talking about Teddy so much, so we told her. Poor little girl is stricken.
