Pilate's Dream

I dreamed I met a Galilean
A most amazing man
He had that look
You very rarely find
The haunting hunted kind

I asked him
To say what had happened
How it all began
I asked again
He never said a word
As if he hadn't heard

And next the room was full
Of wild and angry men
They seemed to hate this man
They fell on him and then disappeared

Then I saw thousands of millions
Crying for this man
And then I heard them mentioning my name
And leaving me the blame

That reminds me -- I have been meaning to get the version of JCS that the Indigo Girls did for ages! I held off from October on in case anyone got it for me for Christmas...thanks :-)

PS You probably already know this, but Amy Ray plays Jesus! That has just got to rock!

Dunno how well you know music, but can I just say that "Everything's Alright" is about the best song ever that's written in five.

Ever.

Even counting Dave Brubeck and Gustav Holst.

I am not familiar with this Dave Brubeck or Gustav Holst.

Tell me more.

Dave Brubeck was (or perhaps is, but I suspect he'd be pretty old by now) a jazz musician whose quartet did a lovely song (in five) called "Tale Five." If you heard it, you'd likely recognize the piece. It gets a lot of play.

Gustav Holst was a classical (ish) composer who did a suite called "The Planets." He wrote one piece for each planet, and "Mars," was, of course, rather warlike. Parts of it are particularly moving, in five, and I believe stolen and placed in John Williams' "Star Wars" at the moment the Death Star explodes. I also detected the same bit of it in "Gladiator" when Maximus and his posse were entering the Colliseum.

The Planets!

Aha! I knew Holst sounded familiar. Thanks for taking the time to explain. :)

Typo. Not "Tale Five."

"Take Five."

Interesting typo.

Sorry about that.
