Lyrics for Friday Morning
Jan. 18th, 2002 12:45 pmI dreamed I met a Galilean
A most amazing man
He had that look
You very rarely find
The haunting hunted kind
I asked him
To say what had happened
How it all began
I asked again
He never said a word
As if he hadn't heard
And next the room was full
Of wild and angry men
They seemed to hate this man
They fell on him and then disappeared
Then I saw thousands of millions
Crying for this man
And then I heard them mentioning my name
And leaving me the blame

Date: 2002-01-19 11:38 am (UTC)Gustav Holst was a classical (ish) composer who did a suite called "The Planets." He wrote one piece for each planet, and "Mars," was, of course, rather warlike. Parts of it are particularly moving, in five, and I believe stolen and placed in John Williams' "Star Wars" at the moment the Death Star explodes. I also detected the same bit of it in "Gladiator" when Maximus and his posse were entering the Colliseum.
The Planets!
