I think I'm going to start wearing a huge sign on my shirt that reads:

I am not Hope. I am Jude.

Today it was Tamara in Asian American Student Services.

There is no Hope in my world....

Just Jude.

If I were to meet her, I'd be like, 'So, you're Jude?'

And she'd have to get a shirt that said "I am NOT Jude. I am Hope."

The funny thing is, no one ever calls her "Jude." Maybe it's because I'm around more, but people think I'm her all the time.

At the last big all-staff meeting I went to, the director of the Multicultural Center (who is my boss's boss's boss) asked me a question and I got to smile and say, "I think you're confusing me with Hope," and she was mortified.

But what was funny was when Coworker Deborah wrote on her paper next to me, "All you people look alike." Ha ha ha. When I wrote, "all us short haired white girls?" she wrote, "LEZZIES" in big block letters and I about died. :)

it's ok, next time someone calls you "Hope," respond by calling them "Debbie," regardless of their name, gender, or whatever. They'll get the message soon enough.
