FRIDAY. Worked. Came home. Did random errands and chores. Picked up girl. Missed her. She found me. Went to Easton. Ate at Cheesecake Factory. Food wasn't cooked. Only ate cheesecake. Came home. Was awkward. Slept. STOP.

SATURDAY. Got up. Continued awkward ickiness. Was raining. Went to kickboxing. Learned jumping front kick, half moon kick, spinning side kick. Sweated. Felt better. Went back to girl. Talked more. Ice creamed with [livejournal.com profile] crena and the girls. FUN! Had chinese food. Went to Goodale Park and Short North. Talked. Almost broke up, I think. Solidified. Laughed.Came home. Loved. Talked more. Watched part of movie (Better than Chocolate). Fell asleep. STOP.

SUNDAY. Slept in. Brunched at Cap City. Ate mini doughnuts. Saw Death to Smoochy. Laughed insane amounts. Loved it. Came home. Loved. Went to sushi with [livejournal.com profile] diannaandbill, [livejournal.com profile] pattisimmons and [livejournal.com profile] minisimmons, [livejournal.com profile] laughingsal, [livejournal.com profile] wannabe_lola, [livejournal.com profile] qaphsiel, and [livejournal.com profile] 356dreamer at Otani. Rented Legally Blonde. Didn't like it. Loved. Slept. STOP.

MONDAY. Slept in. Loved. Showered. Breakfasted at Bob Evans (ew). Terrorized old people. Dropped her off at airport. Went to work. Slumped a bit.

so what did you think of Otani?

On one hand, it was interesting because I had never eaten there before... but on the other hand, I was kind ambivalant about the level of service, price, and portion sizes...

what do you think?

I was thoroughly unthrilled with the service - we were there for 2.5 hours!! The food was good, though - at least the food that [livejournal.com profile] kieron picked for me (she's so good to me!), and the price wasn't /so/ bad (as in, I've seen worse).

But the service was terrible, and no one was there. Poo. Haiku is way more trendysnootyfun!

The service was terrible..I guess I am very cynical....she was assured a 15% tip so therefore did not have to work as hard....I always hate that. Especially since some of the entrees took forever to get there and the edamame (soy beans) which is essentially a relaly easy and quick thing took forever as well. Most of the sushi was really good. The company was really really good....The soy beans were tooooo salty:(

I feel bad that gapshiel got stuck with a bunch of sushi:(

But sushi is good and sushi is fun and more sushi always works for me!:)

What was it about Legally Blonde?

Legally Blonde

I think it was mostly a case of "high hopes."

You see, I love Reese Witherspoon. LOVE HER. LOVE HER. I think she is a big bright ray of sunshine, and she is one of my favorite young-20s actors. Election blew me away. Et cetera.

When Legally Blonde came out, I really wanted to see it. I was supposed to see it in the theatre with the Kaleidoscope kids but it was sold out (it was opening night) and I had to see Scary Movie 2 instead (ugh). So I had sort of forgotten about it but was overcome with, "I want to see this movie tonight, Jen!" So we did.

I didn't like the way the 'mean' girl was the anti-Elle, especially down to appearance. I'm tired of blonde = fun, and makeup = pretty, and bubble head = good, when brunette = boring, fresh face = drab, and studious = annoying. I didn't understand why she loved that Warner guy so much, when he had no substance. I didn't like the way the Harvard committee accepted her because she was wearing a bikini.

But aside from all of that stompygrrl blahdiblah, I just didn't think it was that funny. I was disappointed. I could have shut it off and never finished it. I dunno. I can't pinpoint anything exactly, I just didn't like it.

It was certainly no Election. Phooey!

have you seen her in 'Best Laid Plans'? I love it a lot, but some people seem to hate the ending :-) Either way, she's great in it.

I haven't, actually. I'll add it to my Netflix queue and let you know what I think. :)
