This afternoon, Coworker Hope and I got to go [livejournal.com profile] geocaching for the first time in 2002! I got to test out the e-trex GPS that Jennifer got for me. It worked like a charm after a little figuring out. Yay!

We found two caches, both of which were in the Whetstone Park/Park of Roses area. We successfully located the Whet-stone Cache and the Velo Necropolis Cache. We then added some more fun stuff to the Nerdy Smurf Cache which we set up in December.

This was followed by fetching Megan and heading to Baja Fresh for dinner. Mmmm, bean and cheese burrito. This helps me with my sekrit mission to go to the restaurants I haven't been to before I move back East. City Barbecue yesterday and Baja Fresh today. I rule!

I was thinking about going to see The Reacharounds tonight (my boyfriend's and my baby brother's band), but my hamstring is very owwie ow from kickboxing and I might just chill out here.

Dude,

I've read through the webpage and I think I may be interested into getting into this with Caty, something for us to do on weekends in Atlanta, for surely, there has to be a lot. But, hook up with me and we'd talk or I'd just read over the stuff online and teach it myself.

I think it would be a really fun thing for you and Caty to do together. Caty would have a lot of fun looking at the GPS, though you would have to do the work (setting the coordinates and stuff, she's a little too young for that). You can get a decent GPS for $100, so you know.

But I think you and Caty would love the walks in the parks, and usually people fill the geocaches with goofy things like buttons, McDonald's toys, etc, and Caty would really like that.

I was thinking the same thing. I think she'd love it, and try to find 'treasures' and leave one. She got lots of little things we can put in there.

I think it'd be awesome to do! :)

Yea and when you come visit, we'd go out and do that! The Girl can come too! We'd have a family/friend blast! :)

Okay, so I'm getting a little ahead of myself.

However, I do agree with you. I read a bit last night and think it's an awesome thing to do. I'd have to learn some stuff, but it shouldnt be too hard! :)

It's fairly easy to learn. And if you walk in nerd circles (like I do), you're bound to find someone who already has a GPS even!

Hee. If The Girl and I ever make an Atlanta trek together (I know [livejournal.com profile] jost and [livejournal.com profile] kungfoogirl would love that), we'll be sure to drag you and Caty out somewhere. :)
