Today I got presents from my Mommy. Well, actually, according to the card, they are from my Mom's dogs and cat. They have excellent taste, and have presented me with:
one Ani DiFranco "Not a Pretty Girl" CD
one "Shadow of the Vampire" DVD
YAY! I am trying to get the Ani CDs that I have on tape. She is helping the cause. Good for Mommy. Of course, the whole thing makes me giggle, reminding me of when she called me this summer to say, "Did you know Ani DiFranco is /married/? To a /guy/?" Hee.
I got cards from Baga and Grandma&Grandpa. And a letter from Dublin. She rocks. She is the only LDS woman I know who says that the thought of having kids freaks her out. Hee hee hee. She is the best. Philfriends are lifelong.
Also, (HOORAY!) my Series Two
Living Dead Dolls that I pre-ordered this summer arrived today. What a great birthday gift! :) :) So now I have School Time Sadie, Deadbra Ann, Kitty the Cheerleader, Lou Sapphire, and Lizzie Borden to go along with Sin, Sadie, Damien, Eggzorcist, Died and Doom, Sinister Minister and Bad Habit (which Guy is saving for me for the holidays), and Posey.
The laundry is in the dryer (drier? I'm never sure.) now. I am such a rebel that I put a dress that was 'dry clean only' AND a sweater that was 'hand wash only' into the machine. Rowr. The laundry police are in hot pursuit, I'm sure.
I was supposed to call Mark after work tonight, but after a harrowing 32 or so hour day, he crashed and burned. Poor little dear. Maybe I can catch him tomorrow. Maybe he won't be so frantic. I have this message for him:
Honey, don't worry about the condition or the presentation of my birthday gift. My goodness, you've already given me the very best gift in the universe - my Yang. And I /already/ can't thank you enough. I wish I was there to tuck you into bed, keep the music low and the lullabye lower. Sweet dreams. At the internship today, the woman who always cancels, the one I haven't seen since 22 August, went to the wrong building (we moved a month ago) and, of course, cancelled. Le sigh. At least I made some good progress with the girl I bought the Play Doh for (she appreciated it too, yay!), and my five year old comedian is doing very well. Go me.
Christa doesn't have the foggiest clue about these essays for Child&Family Policy either. That makes me feel a little better. Too much to do. Too much to do. Internship and job and volunteering this weekend and school work and a midterm and thank you notes to write and laundry and cleaning and Aaaaiiiiieeeeee! OSU work all day tomorrow, BUT I get Tuesday Afternoon Gossip with
happy2beso. Score!
