I am exhausted.
Daedalus woke me up at 6am and again at 8:30, that crazy cat. I went to bed around 3, so that didn't leave much time for sleeping. I laid in bed until 9:30 and then got a bunch of stuff done that I wanted to do: I cleaned the cat boxes and the dishes, and brought the mail to the mailbox. I looked for new job postings but there weren't any. I got in touch with my mother. I even went for a short walk in Goodale Park. It was so hot and stuffy that even the homeless people weren't outside. (Though I wonder where they were...)
Melissa called to say that she and Meg were on their way with my entertainment center. Yay! Meg and I carried it in and Mel also provided a big house for the kitties to play in (and they say thank you, meow). I abandoned everything I was working on (I was writing letters to people) and Meg, Mel and I headed up to Mel's new apartment to bring her new entertainment center and desk. We returned the U-haul van and I was treated to free food courtesy of Mr. and Mrs. Doula at this weird place called Quaker Steak and Lube, where the menu is full of things that people who are mentally 14-year-old boys should not read (like "lubricant" and "licking"). We then brought three carloads of stuff to the new place and then, and then, and THEN, Meg and I got to use TOOOOOOOLS and put together the new entertainment center. This was after I broke Meg - her knee popped and she's in a lot of pain now - I'd bet she dislocated her kneecap like
Christina did. But we got that bad boy together and it was so much fun and so awesome and I got to use toooooooooooooooooooools! I love Meg. She rocks my pants!
As if that wasn't enough, I got free dinner, too, at Chile Verde (which I'd never been to). Yummer! Mel brought me home and I fixed my apartment (stuff was everywhere from moving in the entertainment center). But FIRST, I got my mail, and there was a package from my
Chaz! She rocks so hard! She sent me this little inspirational book and a pretty card and a page of rubber duck pictures, and she sent a present for my
Ryan, too! It was all packaged in a bubble envelope covered in rubber duckies. She is the bestest ever, I swear. How did I get so fortunate?
My knee hurts from all the moving stuff and the up and down stairs, and I was a dummyhead and spent most of the evening on my knees assembling the entertainment center - this is bad when you have no cartilage. Throbbiness. Ow. But that's okay because I got to use TOOOOOOLS!!
I want to finish the letters I started writing, and then I can go to bed. I want to get up for kickboxing tomorrow because Roberta goes on Saturdays and she is cool. I have to head back to Mel's to finish the moving, and she has promised ice cream for the assemblage. (Did I mention that said assemblage involved tools?)
I got to be Amy Wynn Pastor today. Woot! Thank you, Mel! :)
p.s. Hey,
Madame Zuzu - I have a friend who doesn't have a livejournal... Meg!
