judecorp: (mini me)
I have been in three states this weekend, and one that I'd never been in before. Go me! This weekend I flew to St. Louis, Missouri to visit my brother and his girlfriend. He lives in Cape Girardeau but he goes up to Columbia to visit her on weekends, so I went there. It was actually the most un-busy weekend I've had in a long time.

I got to sleep in. Yay. I went to a Renaissance Festival. YAY! It was in Kansas (and I have never ever set foot in Kansas before), and I got to eat a turkey leg. And Ryan, they had, get this, PORK CHOPS ON STICKS. You would have loved it. There was lots of food on sticks: cheesecake, pork chops, fruit. Everything is better on sticks. They were selling pickles and marketing them as vegetarian hot dogs. Hee!

I ate lots of yummy food - the first night we went to a place called Addison's in Columbia. The second night we ate at this 50s diner place (63 Diner). This morning we had really good brunch and I confirmed that unless they are in breakfast sammidges, eggs are icky.

We went to a new/used record store that had lots of obscure stuff (double yay) and I ended up buying a live Queers album because that damned boy is getting me hooked on all kinds of silly music. I like them lots, though.

We wandered around the Mizzou campus and I got a postcard for Mr. Campbell because he asked me to bring him something. I think he was joking, but now the joke is on him. I found something in the student union that I picked up for Ryan. I got something for Jodie, too. I was looking for something for Jennifer but I was not successful in finding something good. Poo.

My brother's girlfriend is very nice. I'm very grateful that she opened her house to me so I could stay there, and they kept buying me food and stuff which I appreciate but I felt like a big money-user-person. Her birthday is coming up in a while, maybe I should send her something.

Gretchen commented to my brother that I talk more often and more positively about Jodie than about Jennifer, and I guess she asked him why I don't date Jodie or something like that. I felt a little weird about that - I guess I'm hypersensitive when it comes to insinuations about my feelings for Jen or something - but I suppose I can chalk it up to a lot of external factors. I mean, I hadn't seen Jodie in ages and she just left my house for starters. Some other things occured that left me a little uncomfortable, but that's cool, too.

It was a good weekend. I got a letter written to one of my pen pals, and another to my friend Dublin who is expecting a baby on my birthday. I managed to find Emmy's birthday present online (so don't freak if you get something mailed by an unknown person/source). My brother caught me singing in the shower, but he said it was good, so that's fine, too.

Back to work tomorrow. Whee!

So some people have opened themselves up to answering questions from anyone and everyone. I like doing that, so here goes. You put in a question. I'll post answers in my journal. Have fun guessing the questions!

[Poll #62252]

Okay, bed now.

[livejournal.com profile] jost - Yes. But there's something that is not exactly sane about love, right? I don't know that craziness (or lack thereof) should be your guideline. Or other people, for that matter. As for the subsequent question: I would really love that, you know.

[livejournal.com profile] queerbychoice - My ear.

[livejournal.com profile] jjustj - Yes.

[livejournal.com profile] badadam - Dude, if I had even a fraction of an answer to that question, I'd be fucking famous.

[livejournal.com profile] happy2beso - BEDS.

[livejournal.com profile] scottopic - 'you know when.' Seriously, though, (if this is a serious question, that is) I'd say junior high school.

[livejournal.com profile] auntiesiannan - You can come visit me! :)

Happiest of happy birthdays, [livejournal.com profile] gala!

Now keep those questions coming! :)

And remember - 17 October!

[livejournal.com profile] oddharmonic - Cookies and Cream

[livejournal.com profile] prunesnprisms - light blue with darker blue flowers

[livejournal.com profile] kieron - Yes. Definitely so. There is still a box of photographs.

[livejournal.com profile] juliann - I hate cooking but I like to make birthday cakes for people. And I love you as much as the distance from here to the furthest star in the universe and back again, squared. Because you're mine.

[livejournal.com profile] whod81 - I'm not - we're just perfect for each other.

[livejournal.com profile] wasted_breath - The memory of love. And you know what? I think sometimes it's got me, too.

[livejournal.com profile] thinksnow - Absosmurfly!

[livejournal.com profile] baab - Eyes and collarbones.

[livejournal.com profile] soulcatcher71 - Who needs a heart when a heart can be broken?

[livejournal.com profile] 356dreamer - My birthday, duh!

[livejournal.com profile] cappucinogrrl - You'll find out in a couple of days. It's an out of print book that I think you will like.

[livejournal.com profile] kyoki_tenchi - To be honest, I try not to think of my friends sexually. I think of my friends as anatomically incorrect Barbie and Ken dolls. Especially the ones with which I've surpassed my emotional boundaries, like you.

[livejournal.com profile] rizzo41 - I don't get vacation time for 6 months. However, if a good e-saver comes along, I'll try to take it if it works for you.

[livejournal.com profile] amiscreaming - Don't be jealous. It's hard work being a goddess of the internet. Besides, most of these friends are online only.

[livejournal.com profile] lorimelton - I would not have gotten married.
