I have the window open to get some fresh, 50-something-degree air up in here, and the cats don't know what to do with the delicious windowsill, as if they've forgotten it's wonderfulness. They keep staring at it and taking tentative steps, sniffing around. Good times. What a gloriously beautiful day today was!
I got an early start to my day (only woke up twice last night, then finally when Jen's alarm went off at 6:45), ran to the bank to take care of those bonds and hit the road to Rhode Island. I think by this point nearly everything in the actual apartment that isn't furniture has been bagged (if it's trash), boxed (if it's to be donated - or could be trash), or put aside (if I'm not sure if anyone wants it). All of the trash bags have been piled into the dining room for easy removal and all of the potential donations are tucked away in another room. The Evil Waterbed of Doom has been drained (second time and some magic must be the charm). The bathroom is now as sparkling as the kitchen appliances. The basement closet full of clothing the 70s forgot has also been bagged up. Clothes brought to Grandpa's for donation. The last of the canned goods have been bagged.
Spent a little time with the grandparents and ran to Target on the way home to get some cat litter and laundry soap. Stopped at Neponset Circle on the way home to get a car wash (a bit of an extravagant splurge) since I tried to rinse off the car at Dad's but the outside faucet has been shut off. It's now 5:30pm and aside from some cleaning of the house, I am done (Done DONE) for the weekend.
Tomorrow belongs solely to me and Smooch and I couldn't be happier. We have delicious brunch plans with Jen and Olex, who have very graciously offered to split their gift certificate to Harvest with us. Good gravy, could they be better friends? I don't think so. Props to Shani as well for gorging on chinese food with us last night spontaneously. Yay!
Ralph has rediscovered the wonders of the windowsill and all is right with the world. The gloriousness of a 60° day in March in New England is that it feels like 80° to your winter-weary body. Bring on the sunshine!
