I love opening windows! I don't care if we had the heat on for a little bit this morning, I am opening windows. The cats don't know what to do with all of this delicious windowsill. Fin has discovered the wonders of the window. Perhaps he will now forgive me for cutting his claws this morning. I got tired of him scratching the screens.

I dusted the TV stand and all of the components. I really don't think it's been done since we moved here 2 years ago. (Gross.) I really should do the two shelving units, too, but I'm running out of motivation and just want to play outside. :) Maybe some geocaches are calling me or something.

I called my grandparents to chat (since we haven't seen them in a couple of weeks). I told my Grandma that I would come down on Saturday afternoon and help her with Easter preparations. She saw something in a magazine about making penguins out of hard boiled eggs, black olives, and carrots. I'm not really sure if we can pull it off, but I thought she would appreciate the help. My grandfather asked me, "What's new?" on the phone and I said, "Not much," which is a bold faced lie but I want to tell them about our TTC stuff in person on Saturday. They don't hear so well on the phone and that would just be a train wreck. So, we can talk about egg penguins and babies! (And then I can run away to pick up [livejournal.com profile] grrlpower from the airport.)

My weather widget says that it is only 44° outside. I refuse to believe this. It looks too gorgeous. Say it isn't so!

Jen made creme brulee with dinner tonight and it was delicious. She made rice and beans and invited Gina and Ben over. Wow, it's a Gina-and-Ben-eriffic weekend, I guess. But Gina really wanted rice and beans, so they came over. And she made creme brulee. And it was tasty.

It's so hard when people (I say 'people' and not just 'Jen' because last Wednesday, Gina made a cheesecake for staff meeting) make delicious sweets and encourage me to eat them when I'm trying /so hard/ to not eat so many sweets and balance out my insulin resistance stuff. It's hard enough for me to not just think about sweets all the time, and right now I'm not at a point where I can say, "No thank you" when everyone else is eating sweets.

But oh my, it was tasty.

I also have decided to start supplementing my diet with flax oil for the omega-3s and its blood sugar stabilizing properties. I put some on top of my rice and beans today and mixed it in and I didn't even notice. So hopefully I can continue to do that.
