This afternoon/evening, after a trip to the grandparents', Jen and I attended Laurie and Lisa's wedding. Laurie is a friend of mine from junior high and high school, although we don't keep in touch very well. I mean, she lives in RI and I go to RI almost every weekend, yet we NEVER see each other! Oh well, at least we got a wedding invite! (I don't really know Lisa at all, due to the whole "not seeing each other" thing.) It was a nice wedding, and the ceremony was simple yet beautiful, and the whole thing almost made me wish that Jen and I had had a ceremony of our own, especially because My Jennifer really wanted one. Aah well.
I especially liked this part where instead of having one of those Unity Candle things, the brides each had a bottle of sand from their respective homelands (a beach in RI for one and San Padre Island - I think - for the other) and then they poured the two sands into one container. That was neat. And it was weird to have an almost womyn-only wedding!
Here are some of my favorite photos (of myself, not the wedding, because I'm lame like that):
Whoop, there it is!
( Three more... )All in all, we had a good time even though we only knew a handful of people. They played this game that was like a combination of musical chairs and a scavenger hunt - one person from each table. Jen was our table's representative and she totally won it all with the help of Kayla's amazing purse! I was so proud.
Also, Jen agreed to dance with me (slow AND fast) which I know makes her hecka uncomfortable, so <3 <3 <3 <3.
