No Baby = Muy Productive
May. 6th, 2008 10:13 amIt is amazing what you can do when your baby is at child care. Or, more to the point, seeing what you could never do if she wasn't.
Yesterday I ironed curtains. I felt like my grandmother. But we got some new curtains and they needed to be ironed. And ironing curtains is kind of a PITA and is quite time consuming because they are so long and cumbersome and we have a small ironing board. BUT, the curtains got ironed and hung up and I have to say, the guest room looks quite quite lovely. We had to get new curtains partly because I recently bought a new bed-in-a-bag for the guest room because it was $35 at Tar-jay and mostly because the cats have so lovingly shredded the old curtains. And I do mean shredded.
So since my mom will be staying with us next weekend for Punk's baptism, and since the sheets/duvet that WERE in the guest room are now on the futon in Punk's room, I bought the $35 bed set and $20 worth of curtains and it is a whole new room. It is so light and airy and springy and I think I will take some pictures.
I also managed to clean out my closet (which is the guest room closet), bag up some clothes for Freecycle, hang my new shoe hanger (the other one broke from the mighty weight of my shoes!), file everything that hadn't been filed in the last 6 months, rearrange some stuff in Punk's closet, get the garbage out, do some laundry, and a bunch of other little things. In probably two hours. And it would have taken a whole weekend if Punk was around. :)
Last night we also got new curtains for the living room, because we have the same cat shred problem (hence why we don't buy expensive curtains) and we had a $50 gift card and two 20% off coupons for BB&B.
Aaah, spring.
