Whereas I'm actually encouraged to work at my hotel room when I'm on the road.
Granted, it's a hotel. (Motel, usually.) There's a TV, and that's about it. And in the boonies, where the cable is awful, it's almost actually worth working to pass the time. :)
I once tried working from home, and it failed miserably. I clocked up a total of about 30 hours over the course of a few months. This was good bludge wise, but bad money wise. Never again will I work at home.
Well, this is different. I'm salaried, and work half my hours at home, available by phone should my office need me. For the most part, having to be here to answer the phone keeps me "honest", as does having a workload expectation that's in line with the number of hours I work. But it lets me spend more time with Widget, and it's a little more flexible.
Dude!
