In the continuing saga of the perpetually annoying:

A. seems to have forwarded all mail with the L-- last name. Otherwise it's just incredibly strange that I'm not receiving any mail hardly (and only to the A-- name) - none yesterday at all, and one graduation card today which is odd since I usually get at least two credit card offers per day - and the L-- name has been crossed off the mailbox by the postal carrier. Great. Just great. He's also managed to take all of the pots and pans and the stepladder. Taking the nails out of the walls will be interesting indeed.

In other more positive news, while packing I found a bunch of old coupons, so I'm currently enjoying a tasty free sub. I usually avoid Blimpie like the plague (because nothing ever seems totally fresh), but hey - free sub. (Hey, free dummy.) I found a coupon for a free loaf of bread from one of the bakeries out here that I'll use before I move, too, and $5 off at Wild Oats. Yay.

My RoadRunner service was down this morning, so I got a lot of packing done while doing laundry. I returned books to the library and borrowed Stephen King's Dreamcatcher. I mailed bills. Reminder, kids, that postage becomes 37 cents as of June 30th. 37 cents! That's insanity!

I leave you with this:

Judie Smurf: *burp*
Strange: why are you burping at me?
Judie Smurf: Cause I'm eating.
Strange: so if I was pooping and icqing from the bathroom via wireless I could go *GRUNT PUSHPUSH SPPPPLLLOOOSH* and it'd be ok?
Judie Smurf: Yes. :)
Strange: noted.

I've been reading Dreamcatcher for... hell. I got it for Christmas, I think. I'm half way through, and just... stopped. It's so strange! I'll finish it some time, but it just got too weird.

When I was reading the jacket, it sounded sort of It-like, so I thought I would check it out. I'll let you know. :)

That's why I picked it up - it sounded like It to me (yes, too many "its" in that sentence).

I probably shouldn't be saying this before you read it, but I thought the book was terrible. It had potential, and went no where with it. I've been so disappointed in Stephen King lately. He needs to release the last part of the Dark Tower series and get on with it.

Dark Tower series

I am not a fantasy fan, so I don't particularly like the Dark Tower series at all. I think the style of writing is good, but I've read the four of them, and the only thing I've liked about any part of any of those books was the riddles on Blaine the Mono. Everything else was so blah to me.

I prefer the more psychological thrillers he writes, where the terror is all what's going on in the person's head. For this reason, I've loved The Shining, Gerald's Game, and The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. I'm also a short story person, but I think that's because I have no attention span.

Still, taking books out from the library means no money is wasted, no matter how terrible the book is! :) You should give me your Borders discount!

Really still feeling like Aaron is needing a buttkicking. ALL the pots and pans? How are you going to replace this stuff? I'm so worried about you.

If I didn't feel like shit and if I were able to leave my apartment, I would go down to Klumbis for some good old fashioned buttkicking. You want that I should get the boys from West Memphis after him?

As far as replacing stuff, I guess I'm just going to have to buy new stuff. I can get some pretty cheap-o pots and pans for not too much. Or maybe I can whine my grandparents into giving me some money if I promise to buy it on domestic things. ;)

Well, he didn't take ALL the pots and pans. He left: 1 completely rusted cookie sheet that is now in the trash, 1 steamer/pasta pot that was under the leaky part of the sink and was filled with grungy rusty water (also now in the trash), 2 muffin pans, and the one little sauce pan that I had in my dorm room at Hofstra.

Upon further inspection, he's also taken the ironing board and iron, cutting board, and those canisters you put flour and stuff in (and the stuff that was inside them).

He left his nasty old coffee maker, the mixer, all of the old condiments, and lots of his soil/pots/plant stuff, presumably so I would throw it out for him.

You should send him all his old stuff, and make him pay for it, "Addressee will pay additional postage if necessary." - You can do that, right?

(I did NOT know that they are once again upping the price of stamps. Blast!)

Bwa ah ah. It pays to have childish friends.

You know, I'm just not that kind of person. I don't even mind throwing the crap away, except for the way it happened.

If he had said, "Hey, you can have whatever I left and if you don't want it, can you toss it for me?" that would have been cool with me. It's the idea that it was expected that I would do it, coupled with the fact that I "deserved" to do it because I didn't pay rent, when I did.

Bleh.

I actually kind of liked dreamcatcher.
I have been dissapointed with King in general though.
His writingis getting tired.
He reuses alot of the same phrases and things I've noticed lately, and, as such, he is basically reusing the personalities of old charachters.
It begins to seem juvenile, uninspired, and well...nbot all that talented.
I used to be a confessed king junkie.
Maybe his supposed retirement to come is all for the best.

And yeah A seems like a selfish pain in the ass right about now.
If you need mugs or glasses I have them in spades over what I could ever need. Let me know and I will try and get some to you while you are in town. Hmm not that I'm sure you'd want to travel with them. nevermind that might have been a poor thought process. My bad.

I have /so/ many glasses and mugs. Thanks for offering, though. One time, years ago when I was in an Ebay frenzy, I bid on several sets of Smurf drinking glasses in the hopes that I might win some. I won all of them. I have plenty of glasses. :) And everyone has a ton of mugs, right? While packing, I even threw some away.

You're sweet to offer, though. And I have a lunch box for you, hotlips!

Sweeeeet!
