Pen Pal Circle
Aug. 8th, 2002 02:32 pmOkay, so this is for everyone who said they wanted in on the Pen Pal circle. So far, I have the following interested users:
swisscheesed,
wingedwolf,
juliann,
oddharmonic,
cappucinogrrl,
grrrrrindigo,
kyoki_tenchi,
xanthe42,
crena,
vampira93,
jennafei, and
starzz. But there is still time! (And I still need addresses from
wingedwolf,
kyoki_tenchi, and Carina.)
What I was thinking was this: I am going to give each person one person's name, address, and LJ name. That person would be responsible for writing their person a letter, preferably within 2 weeks. Now, /another/ person would have the writer's name, so each person will, in effect, have two pen pals - one to write to first, and one to receive from first. That way everyone will get a letter within 2 weeks.
I was hoping pen pals would be able to write once every 2-4 weeks. In a couple of months, I'll poll around and see if anyone else wants in, and also if people think they could handle another name.
This is all tentative, and I'm open to suggestions. I'll collect names until next Wednesday or so. Yay! And yes, Emmy, I'm still writing you a letter today.

I went by Brenen's today on my way home from The Dube. I haven't gone there since the last time I met Lara there. I don't think I'll ever go again. I miss Lara. :(

Date: 2002-08-08 10:30 pm (UTC)Not-quite-mail-related funny today: went down to the nearest coffeehouse with the short person and some friends that had come up to visit. I knew the coffeehouse was co-sponsoring an event that my family clowns will also be at, but I didn't know they had flyers up yet... short person stops in the doorway at the sight of the flyer (posted just above her eye level), points and yells: "Rosie! 'Tunia!" repeatedly until we distract her with M&Ms. Guess someone skipped the "fear of clowns" phase entirely...

Date: 2002-08-09 11:48 pm (UTC)I think Laurel skipped the "fear of clowns" phase by having been immersed in it her entire life -- when she was 3 days old, my mother put a little hat and a sponge nose on Laurel while she was sleeping and took pictures.

Date: 2002-08-10 09:33 pm (UTC)It was that damned Poltergeist movie that did it for me. It didn't help, either.
