I can hear my big kitty Daedalus purring behind me, so I turned around to see what he's up to. He's laying across my winter coat and is kneading it over and over, purring contentedly.

Okay, I go smoosh on him now.

When I had to put his littermate, Icarus, to sleep, I couldn't help but wonder if I'd cursed him with his fatal moniker.

Icarus...So, I suppose you'll have one named Medea, one named Oedipus....

Actually, my other cat's name is Ralph.

Go figure. :)

Actually, that sounds funny, too.

"...And here are my cats. Daedalus, Icarus, and Ralph." Sounds like an old comedy routine.

We (the ex and I) got Daedalus and Icarus together as littermates. We were told they were female, so we named them Kali and Pandora. Then they began to "develop" and I changed their names temporarily to Kali-with-balls and Pandora-with-balls.

So Daedalus and Icarus were slightly better. Then we had to put Icky to sleep due to kidney failure, and I was very sad. We then went to the Humane Society and got Bree (came with the name). She and The Big D hated each other. My sister had a cat named Billie that she had to get rid of, and somehow Billie ended up in my car and became Ralph, after Harriet's friend Ralph in So I Married an Axe Murderer.

I'm so complex. Or something.

Awwww. I miss my Daniel so much. I could sometimes hear him purring from another room. But Jade is now starting to purr sometimes, so we're making progress.

I miss you too sweetie. I was actually looking at the flight prices to Columbus last night, but the cheapest I could find was around $220. *sigh* I hate being broke!

Even from Providence? There has to be cheaper than that!

It was more expensive from Providence. Isn't that weird? It might just be a random fluke on the weekend I was searching. I think I was looking at Presidents Day weekend. I'm not sure now though.

Are you coming home around the holidays at all?

I'll be home very briefly - from 21 December to 25 December. I don't really get time off. Sad sad. :(

Yay!! We should figure that out fairly soon, so I don't accidently schedule something. The next couple of weeks are going to be so crazy, especially with being away for a week right in the middle of the pre-holiday madness. :)

Let me know what day I should hold for you. :)

I'll have to think on it. Probably sooner rather than later, because Christmas Eve and Christmas are, well, booked. Hrm.

Perhaps Sunday the 22nd?

That sounds good to me. The next month or so is a scheduling nightmare, but I've locked you in for that day. We can figure out what we'll actually do later. :)

The Girl had brought up the possibility of meeting in Northampton, but I don't know if the travel is plausible.

What do you think?

That is a possibility. If we were going with this plan I think I would prefer if you took the train up to Boston and then we drove out together or something like that. I certainly don't have an issue with driving out there. Heck, I'm supposed to drive out there Saturday for a housewarming that I can only stay at for an hour.

Holiday planning.

From: [identity profile] judecorp.livejournal.com
I'm sure I can train or bus in. That shouldn't be a problem. Even better, I might be able to beg/borrow/steal/rent a car and can meet y'all out there, even, unless you'd like to drive together, in which case, I can totally get out there to you so we can spend quality time together singing musicals. ;)

And maybe I can even con The Girl into driving me home and staying the night, though I dunno.

*plots*

I would like it if we drove out together. I always need quality musical singing time with my Jude. :)

Beyond that, I'm flexible. :)

I agree about the singing. The Girl might not be able to accomodate us on Sunday, so we may not be driving anywhere - but we can still sing musicals!

VERY cute kitty Cat.

Icarus and Daedalus. You could name one JC Denton and go for a computer game theme.

Sadly, my landlord doesn't allow cats. Last time I asked, he said "no," and my rent went up two weeks later. One and ONLY rent hike I've had in that time, and it came right after I asked about getting a cat.

Coincidence, I think not.

Oh well, the place is still cheap at the higher price anyway.

Landlords who don't allow cats are suckypoo.

Icarus has been dead for years, how sad, how sad. He was a sweet kitty.

My parents have a cat who is starved for attention. The sister who likes the cat is at college, and I rarely see the poor animal.

That's the cat I'd asked about. Already litter trained, mature but not old, and yet he was inflexible.
